yup, the IC is side mounted. The cooling fan will cool down your car to a certain temp before fully shut down. Nothing is wrong, even Merc n BMW are having auto cooling fan too...

I thought the way i power off my car wrong. cause i think logically...this machine got lots of electronic device...dunno the battery can last how long.. the battery box of this car is very huge. and the fan still running and i thought will drain the battery if that is the case... hopefully one box can use more than 1 year...

hmmm. not too sure why is it suppose to be like that or all turbo cars will be having a hot air flowing down to the floor... after i power off the car. Lock the car. the alternator fan will still run for 1 minute or 2 before it auto close it self. is it applicable to all turbo cars? the sales person says all soft turbo got intercooler. this car intercooler is place near the tyre on the left hand side.... is it right or wrong not too sure..i dunno how to check what part what part also. and is bit too noisy if open air cond...inside cannot hear...but outside seems like a very huge fan spinning. can feel the heat outside at the floor. the bonnet also feel so much hotter compare to my normal carburetor car. 1.3 daihatsu charade. of course both is compare after running on the road for more than 30 minutes. both car is warm up 1 or 2 minutes before run.
*
Well yeah the intercooler is located at the left front wheel there. you buka bonnet can see something resembles a mini radiator there. and the fan spinning feature is there even in the normal campro cars(Saga, persona etc) if i'm not mistaken as well.

is it the fan spinning contribute to better air cond and cooling for whole engine? thats why proton got super air cond. i put minimum also fan speed the cold can make my glass got vapour..

its used to cool down the engine after it is shut down to preserve the engine if not mistaken. I think the water pump is still operating when the fan is operating. correct me if i'm wrong smile.gif

Nope. Water pump is belt driven. So if engine off, water pump also stops. The fan is spinning to cool the coolant in the radiator. I recalled reading Drex's post saying that the turbo unit in CFE is cooled by a seperate electric pump. Maybe that is why the CFE fan is spinning a bit more than the other Campros

my 1 year old Waja battery can power my ICE including woofer for mroe than 2 hours before i have to do a push-start, i don't think a few minutes spent turning a fan will deplete the battery laugh.gif

We wait for mat79 to log in. Hahaha. For my Persona, I think only 30secs max after engine shutdown. Not all the time though, only after a hard drive or long distance drive. I'm still using the stock Proton Ramcar DIN45 going into my third year

hi,

Anyone know if the cfe gear shift console has lights to show the letter P, R, N. D. S etc. Mine seem it does not have any lights under the cover. I can hardly see the lettering at nights with my lights switched on.
The only place you can see is from the meter. I am just curious if my console light is fused. rolleyes.gif

yes.. its like a turbo timer.. important to cool the snail down.

most, if not all turbo.. has an intercooler. not just soft turbo. yes its on the left side of ur engine, inside the front bumper, near ur left tyre.

I recall someone telling me, as well as reading some posts online, that after a long drive, it's recommended not to switch off your car immediately. Let the engine cool of and what not. The fan running should be incase people don't do that lor. Although I might be very wrong...I'm no motor head. What I know is mostly from listening to my motor head friends sweat.gif

I thought someone mentioned before that it does? But can't really see it. Would be great if some of the new owners could check this out smile.gif

I'm hoping to go test drive soon. Haih. Haven't done it yet.

Hope to see Mat79 come in and comment about the whole recall/delay thing. If the ECU will be re-programmed to act like the bold's (where people say the response is sweeter) then it'd be great! biggrin.gif

its the CVT whine. It will even amplify when you climb genting at L mode.
