hi there, i got a budget around RM2.5k and kinda want to stick tightly to it,

will be using it for:
1. mostly work,
2. some gaming (probably mmo with good graphics, like DN)
3. 1080p/720p movie (high quality ones), GPU must able to play 'em smoothly

Bonus:
1. Lightweight since i'll be carrying it around
2. backlit keyboard (2.5k lappy got this? biggrin.gif)

Suggestion for laptop with good price under my budget. Thanks

What's the difference for 14" WXGA and 15.6" HD screen? is the 14" not true HD-quality? hmm.gif

1. Preferred Brand - Dell or Asus or Toshiba
2. Budget - RM 2k ~ 2.5k
3. Usage - IT student. Normal gaming such as dota 2.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14', below 3kg

Any suggestion?

Acer TimelineX 4830TG-2454G75, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2599[2.17kg]

There are new variants of Timeline Ultra as well nod.gif

Thanks!

The Timeline Ultra you're talking about is the M3.
I saw that last year. Its the ultra slim laptop but without CD player.
Its a Macbook Air competitor right?

But is there no newer Timeline series?
I googled "Acer 8hour battery laptop" and it all goes back to the old laptops..

If I want a long battery life laptop, besides the older Timeline X series, what other choice do I have from Acer and Asus, Dell etc.?
You know, something in the old Timeline series budget, around RM2500.

Thanks

The Acer M3 was just launched about a month ago.. I think you've seen the wrong model :lol;
Anyway apart from the 4830Tg that's already recommended, there's this one as well, also boasting long battery lives:
14"
Asus U46Sv-WX053v, i5-2430M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2599[2.14kg]; USB3.0, Asus optical mouse

Dell XPS 14z, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT520M@RM3099[1.98kg], 8GB, 500GB, Belkin Evo Backapck, 4GB
