14"
Asus N45SL (Jay-Chou edition), i5-2450M + Nvidia GT635M@RM2899[Bang & Olufsen], 750GB (7200rpm), Color: White *this one should be much, much cheaper now since the newer batch has arrive

Lenovo Y480, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT640(40nm Fermi)@2999[JBL], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard *You can get the FreeDOS version for RM2499 hmm.gif

If not; I would suggest you go for this one instead, especially if you don't mind a 15.6" laptop:
Asus N56Vz-S3088V, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2699[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 750GB, W7HP, subwoofer and backpack

Definitely this one brows.gif
15.6"
Asus N56ZM-S4079V, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920 x 1080) + BluRay@RM3599[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 1TB

It fits your requirements perfectly~
Though please be careful to check your specs because there is a lousier one (Asus N56Vm which costs the same but has Nvidia GT630M and 1366x768 resolution instead)

I wouldn't say its a smooth game play with 20+ fps (http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-640M.71579.0.html)
Though its still playable. The GT650 should be able to handle bf3 in high settings. Though you should only take the review as reference..

That for multiplayer i guess? Single player is not that heavy and >30fps is smooth enuff to enjoy this game imo.

Better to boost a few hundred for a better one rather than to take that risk for a gamer that wants high quality and smooth gameplay (at least for me, though I don't play bf3 tongue.gif).

Hey guys,

Need recommendations for a new laptop now that my old Dell Vostro 1310 is dying.

1. Preferred Brand - Any brand is fine
2. Budget - RM 3.5k - RM 4k
3. Usage - CPU intensive work like excel sheet calculations. Also gaming (D3, TF2, GW2 etc)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - Any size is fine

Actually looking for bang-for-buck type of laptop, eyeing MSI GE60, Asus G55 or Lenovo Y580 atm. Any better choices out there? International warranty is a must as I move about.

I'm hoping to use the laptop for the next 3-4 years. I was actually looking at laptops with GT640 cards but I think the GTX660M (since I read reviews about it being almost equal to the desktop HD4850) would be a better choice to last the next 3-4 years.

Thanks in advance.

MSI GE60, Asus G55VW and Lenovo Y580 are all good gaming laptops and can handle your works as well.

You can take a look at the Asus N56ZM as well, though the GPU is weaker compared to the aforementioned three.

N56ZM-S4079V, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920 x 1080) + BluRay@RM3599[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 1TB
