Hello all sifus

1. Preferred Brand - anything except Acer and Asus

2. Budget - around RM3000

3. Usage - mostly simple student work, excels , programming , web browsing , light gaming , movies

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15' / 14' (preferably)

5. Others - prefer i5 cuz less heat for my usage, last for long time/good reviews

If there is upcoming new models I wouldnt mind as well

No problem. I think it means you can turn it on or off.

14R have 14' and better graphic card iinm, 15R have 15' with FHD display.
It all comes down to your preference

Dell has got good warranty and its international as well iinm.

Or you can try Asus N series for good entertainment purposes.

Yes Acer M3 comes with Nvidia GT640M. It is quite worth it.
For the price, last i checked was RM2599. Maybe you can check the pricing at the shops.

IINM I don't think there is. They have glossy screen though.

Err what does mass comm/language usually do? is it heavy on graphics? why mac is better/preferable for your course?

As for 17", most laptops exceeds your budget. Or you can opt for a desktop with that budget?

For cooling system issue, have to refer to reviews. It usually depends on your usage and length of hour used. If you're playing in air-cond room then usually its okay. Or you can get a cooling fan for it.

Asus G55VW-S1095V and Sager NP9130 so far I don't hear any complaints for the temperature problem. As for Dell I'm not so sure.

Your usage is not heavy as compared to others which are heavy on gaming / high graphics. A simple laptop with less-er budget will be enough.

I think i5 is enough if you're into gaming alot. Some desktop only have i3 but powerful GPU, still can play as well.
