Hi everyone, hope you guys can gimme some suggestions...

1. Preferred Brand: Toshiba or Asus
2. Budget: around RM3,000 (can maybe stretch to bout RM3,500 if it's really worth it)
3. Usage: Photo-editing, Photoshop, Gaming, Movies, Surfing
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14"-15"

PS: would prefer to have a ivy bridge  i7 and a decent graphic card (honestly current models confuse me) if possible~

I've never owned a laptop before, so gonna be a big move from my ancient desktop.
Thanks in advance yea!  smile.gif

Definitely this one brows.gif
15.6"
Asus N56ZM-S4079V, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920 x 1080) + BluRay@RM3599[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 1TB

It fits your requirements perfectly~
Though please be careful to check your specs because there is a lousier one (Asus N56Vm which costs the same but has Nvidia GT630M and 1366x768 resolution instead)

Which Asus version?

The 14" N45SL should be available. The 15" N56VZ is a new laptop that has just been introduced. I heard its available in Malaysia already. Perhaps you can check it out in stores smile.gif

1. Preferred Brand: Anything (but had bad experience with Dell)
2. Budget: About 3k
3. Usage: Gaming, media and photography usage -don't need SSDs, love more space on the HDD.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15" and above

-preferably something lightweight, not like those desktop replacements. been hearing on the lenovo y580, is that the best value-for-price currently?
- also have a win7 license on hand, so maybe wouldn't need another win7 license.
- also, if anybody knows a better laptop with custom specs (like those from illegear, that would also be helpful as a comparison).

The N56ZM is 1k more expensive though. I would like N56VZ specs, with HD+ or FHD screen. Hopefully those choices will be available later...

Thats because N56ZM has the FHD screen. Is the N56VZ going to have FHD screen? I think it only has HD.

N56ZM costs 1000 bux more because of FHD, Core i7, 1TB HDD, and BR combo. If there's a N56VZ with FHD = win!
