okay, what i mean is bb guy prone to injury vs strength guy

it isnt the same for both likelihood of getting injured doing the same tasks

bb guy will always more prone to injury compare to strength training guy

And do you have any statistics or facts to back up your claim?

Neither disagreeing nor agreeing. Just curious. Why this preference? To tell you guys the truth I have never been on a cookie cutter strength program anyway.

Personally, for me, it has less to do with 5-3-1 being a "perfect" program and more to do with SS being rubbish and 5-3-1 being easy to follow and remember for beginners.

Squatting 3x a week, overemphasis on squats to the detriment of other body parts etc does not set up a good foundation for a beginner - plus it wastes so much potential of "beginner gains".

The original SS program didn't have any work for arms, back (deadlift is not a real back workout) and hamstrings. Criminal for a BBer.
For a PLer, squatting 3x a week, benching/dl on the same workout ( rclxub.gif ) is not an optimal way to bring your numbers up.

All in all, beginners should avoid it. Rippetoe does have some decent stuff about proper form on the DL/Squat though

do injured gym trainees go to doctor and report themselves as bb or strength trainees ?
lol
so u can go and do a research and prove me wrong

okay

let me form an defined analogy.

lets say a 100kg boxer(strength) can deliver a punch so strong to ur face and crack ur skull, and nothing happen to his fist etc
because he knows how to punch nicely.

but a 120kg bb, with a an arm bigger than the boxer, he punches ur face, not only his deliver force is lesser that it wouldnt crack ur skull, but he broke his knuckle too.
because he knows only how to make his muscle bigger, not necessary stronger/skillful

Try instead:
120kg BBer grabs you with two tree-trunk-size arms, lift you up like a toy (very easy as he can potentially DL 250+KG) lift you overhead (very easy as he can OHP 100KG) and tosses you onto the concrete floor.

I'd rather get punched any day, tqvm. smile.gif

so you are generalizing that all bb are stupid cause only know how to pump the muscle without doing it perfect form?

i never hints that bbers are stupid if he lacks of power/force delivering skills
i just wanna prove that without proper strength training, it is more prone to injury and less performance
which u said i am wrong about that.

guys is it good to do some calisthenics exercise on off days

now i work out about 4 days a week and in between the rest days i felt really boring.... but i do not wanna waste my time playing computer games (im a university student so i have plenty of free time LOL) so is it good that instead i spend the time doing some push ups or crunches or other exercise for muscle endurance... my workout routines are doing as heavy weight as possible for 4~6 reps... so my muscle endurance pretty sucks

well i know im suppose to let the muscles rest and recover on rest days but im just really too free

so i think it cant hurt to do a few bodyweight squats or push ups or crunches on off days right?

I felt my iq dropping after reading your posts. So yes it causes harm.

Regarding ss. I dont see why u guys should be butthurt if its popular. Its meant for beginners, not advanced trainees. As long as it brings up the trainees poundages for compound movements I dont see whats so bad about it. You could always change to a different program once youre sure on what you want to do

Imo, if a newb starts off with ss rather tHan just doing a chest arms routine id say hes off to a good start.

Go ahead. No harm with it. Do some cardio instead? Or sports?

Im usually so gassed out that I literally do nothing on my rest days. Youth certainly has its advantages lol

This was my thought when I saw the initial post of ss sucks for making progress in BB or PL.

It isn't apples to apples comparison. SS is meant for beginners. It isn't meant to be stuck to forever. And many people have made great progress (if reviews are to be believed) with it. There are people who disliked it or did not find it useful but thats true for any program or item. *shrugs*

Eventually as an intermediate or advanced lifter, you are very likely going to want to move on to a different program (someone elses or your own) to lift greater poundage. 5/3/1 is definitely not a beginners program rclxub.gif It may be something I look at implementing when I have a few years experience under my belt although I expect I will be perfectly content keeping things much simpler.
