strange.. i test drive forte 1.6 before. i found it so sluggish. i press the accelerator, the engine roar but the car barely move. even the kia SA sitting beside me also admit and said the same thing, so he recommended me 2.0.

i havent tried elantra 1.6 so i cant compare. but i dont understand why some people said 1.6 forte has good acceleration.
*
Not in my test drive session with both cars on the same day though.
Ive tested the Elantra 1.6 first, then 1.8.
Later tested the Forte 1.6, and Forte Koup 2.0 (which is the same engine 2.0 for the SX) but with 4 ppl in the car!!

Believe me when i say Elantra is sluggish.
Both the Fortes pickup really good and sounded smooth and less noisy than the Elantras.

A friend of mine says the Elantra could take some time to break in the engine.
But its the sound proofing i think.

ANyway, go test drive and see.

No one in their right mind should just go buy a car without testing drive both side of the spectrum and just based on forum readings.

Sports mode? I only time I understand Sports mode is in a supercar.
From what I can understand and from my test drive of the Elantra, this is actually just "manual" mode la.
Obviously in manual mode, you can rev the car higher.
In manual mode, i think with a paddle shifter is easier. Imagine getting used to the stick shift manually while pressing your left foot for clutch where it doesnt exist.

Altis got it.

Sport Mode in Elantra function as same as paddle shifter in forte, u may install it, i think bro fluid did mentioned is compatible.

Somehow i feel this is a very good write up.

There are points for everyone to appreciate about the Elantra.

SA review but one thing i agree, Forte is on an outdated platform while current Elantra is on a new one. Compare only when K3 is out next year.. oh wait..K3.. sexier brows.gif

Even in the writting, can sense the author's denial in acknowledging that Forte is in C-segment market.

I do not feel I am driving at all in AT car. Nothing to do with the extra one leg and arm.

Of course govt won't do anything, but that shouldn't mean we should keep quiet also. Remember silence can also mean agreeing.
