strange.. i test drive forte 1.6 before. i found it so sluggish. i press the accelerator, the engine roar but the car barely move. even the kia SA sitting beside me also admit and said the same thing, so he recommended me 2.0.

i havent tried elantra 1.6 so i cant compare. but i dont understand why some people said 1.6 forte has good acceleration.
*
You found it sluggish compared to which car? doh.gif

Sports mode? I only time I understand Sports mode is in a supercar.
From what I can understand and from my test drive of the Elantra, this is actually just "manual" mode la.
Obviously in manual mode, you can rev the car higher.
In manual mode, i think with a paddle shifter is easier. Imagine getting used to the stick shift manually while pressing your left foot for clutch where it doesnt exist.

That is all about habit. I have used to using the gearshift to +- so no problem at all rclxms.gif

Seems like the new upcoming Proton Preve 1.6L Turbo is getting quite good reviews. Plus it seems quite value for money (RM 75,000) considering the specs ure getting.

3) 0 – 100kmph in 9.6 secs (Kia Optima is 10.9 secs)
4) First Proton with Euro 5 environmental emission standards
5) First Proton to use Hot Press Forming high tensile strength body
6) Certified by Australian NCAP
7) 4 airbags
8) Anti Lock Braking System (ABS)
9) Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD)
10) Brake Assist (BA)

Let me make it clear. I've boycott proton no matter how cheap it is or how long the spec list. They have screw up our auto industry for 20 yrs and still posting a lost. Look at how well Thai is doing, region hub for most car productions. Without potong, we would have been the ideal location for auto regional hub bcoz no major natural disasters. Now we r paying a bomb to own any car non-potong (except naza who seem to have some special relation w them). And also look at Wat happened to elantra pricing and launch delays
