now seeing as its USD700, and gold ring...
i wonder if its made in china like the current 105mm micro.

and yea, i agree no need for it to be gold ring...will look out of place beside the 85mm 1.8G tongue.gif

Don't tell us later you miss your D700 than your D800 tongue.gif

How much you're selling your D700?

Not problem with you but Nikon laugh.gif

I mean there isn't that much of need to make it N or Gold ring.

I couldn't be sure, but is that the first f/1.8 Gold Ring lens? Probably the N coat will make it an interesting lens to own smile.gif

Most probably made in china/thailand
but looking at lens like the 85mm 1.8G, don't think there's any problem with it if it's made in china
I rather it being cheap and made in china than paying rm500-1000 more just for three little small words saying it's made in japan, considering there's hardly any quality difference. If it's above rm3k and made in china, that's another story

couldn't see any reason why would I miss my D700 if i own the D800. flex.gif

Don't understand what is wrong making a $700 lens nano coated and gold ring?!!
As a consumer that's a big welcome really.
And the gold ring means that it would be a stunning lens. The pricing of the 85 & 28 1.8G really is great from Nikon.
Hopefully they are trying to set a trend where the days of Nikon's lenses are always more expensive than Canon are gone.
Looking forward for more affordable gong ring + nano coated lens!!! rclxms.gif

well 85mm 1.8G etc, the optics have definitely improved, but the tradeoff is of cos the materials used in construction are cheaper.

btw, 60mm AF-S micro is Nano coat, USD500, made in japan, but no gold ring.
maybe if want gold ring must pay extra USD200 get nikon put for u tongue.gif

I also have this. Mine is at the top left, whatever I do, it just won't go off, cotton bud clean the sensor, mirror, whatever, it's still there. Definitely not the lens as the dot is there when I look through the viewfinder without a lens.
24mp for what on an entry level doh.gif Nikon pun mau untung liao this time ka.

Newbies love high MP. When they see a DSLR, they usually go 'how many MP is this?'

So Nikon is probably on the right track... when the shop goes, 24MP sharp sharp. Newbies buys it immediately laugh.gif

those potential buyers all were whining because they thought the D800 has low light capability of a D70 because of its high MP.

But as soon as they seen the samples in low light most of them changed their mind, stop whining and took out their credit cards. hahaha

and potential 5d mk iii buyers were attracted to change camp too! haha

the production for D3s has been discontinued
so if you want a new one, better buy one before it's sold out in the market

Wait for stock... the price now is pretty much because stock is limited therefore the seller can jack up price slightly. Demand > Supply.
