Similar design, but Wave 3 is bigger and has a better screen. Biggest difference is that Wave 3 runs on Samsung's Bada OS. Ask your mom what she wants to do with the phone. If just calls, SMS, FB, Wave 3 also can

Got a question, any custom ROM that support Chinese interface. I want did for my sister and she required Chinese interface.

Is the COW ROM support Chinese interface?

Or any place can get Deodexed stock local ROM?

Cowithgun's ROM all based on malaysia version. Confirm got chinese. But I think the other version, forgot which country rom also got chinese. I forgot where's that though

which setting to use for Galaxy W? i tried Balanced 3 Settings but it seems that after reboot it is not loaded yet...

Samsung Wave 3 runs Bada OS (By Samsung) so not much good than Android, Samsung Galaxy W is a good phone that runs Android almost the same as Wave 3 but it has smaller screen with 3.7inch TFT while Wave 3 has 4.0 Super AMOLED screen.
And for Samsung Galaxy Ace is not recommended. Because the processor is bad and lagging and does not support adobe flash player Hmm but if your mom is standard user Galaxy Ace is okay if she don't install much apps in it

my galaxy w seems cant connect to p1 wimax even when i'm just beside the modem but it can connect to other wifi hotspots without problems. i cant figure out the problem. does anybody has the same experience? am using stock rom.

I'm not using it. Can't give any comments.
Currently available rom (what I know) includes Kezra, Cow's (bionic/bionic2/etc etc) and CM9 (This one is ICS).
Cow's version done a lot of tuning for maximized speed and increased amount of RAM. Seems to be quite a good one but it's still Gingerbread. Some problem have problem using it though, not consistent feedback. I can't say much.
Kezra I got no idea at all.
CM9, someone here who used it says it's fast, even faster than cow's rom (smoother perhaps) but mind you, there're a list of hardware not functioning thus it's still a alpha release. The most important is... the camera is not working. That's what stopping me to go for it. This is not just a problem with Galaxy W ICS custom rom. Many other models are also having this problem. It's the lack of driver that makes those hardware can't be used. I know not much too.

i faced this problem before....after i renamed my wifi name then can connect already...

Don't forget that the Wave 3 feels like a premium phone with its superior build quality and materials. SGA was the phone that the SGW replaced anyways.

But overall, the SGA was a very capable phone and could run a modified Flash Player without difficulty.


In my opinion, it's one of the best Gingerbread based ROMs we can get for the SGW. It's tweaked and scripted for maximum performance and it really shows. AnTuTu benchmarks are off the roof with it and real world performance is extremely snappy when coupled with the included Zeam Launcher.

Arco's CM9 alpha too is another good choice since it's the only ICS ROM we have now. Though it's alpha, you can use it on a daily basis if the camera isn't something you use. Much smoother overall as well.

I already tried 2 P1 wimax hotspots and it failed to connect to both of them. Mreover, it's not my personal hotspot so I cant just change its name. Any other ideas to fix this problem? Thanks.
