I think it will be faster when running apps or games installed on that sdcard. Even on xda they recommend to have at least class 6 to do the swap. But if the phone lag in UI, thats another story i think.

unfortunately yes, the phone lags in UI. which means?

Lag in UI have nothing to do with swaping or sdcard class. In mainly cause by lack of RAM. There are apps that are running at the background. Freezing useless app, using custom rom, or using greenify app can reduce it. What rom did that phone use?

But dont take my word just like that. Try yourself.

EDIT: Or u can try changing to other launcher first. Look for light and low memory consume launcher.

ohh okay then, thanks for the clarification. everyone knows galaxy w has small memory, do u have any suggestion how to increase memory? does flashing custom rom definitely solve this issue?

*edit* actually ive already change to holo launcher, as per recommended by those people in xda. but still sad.gif

Please don't expect too much from this phone. Hardware limitation > software improvement. Flashing a custom rom+ kernel will definitely help a lot but can't guarantee to solve the lag issue cause of RAM limitation. Btw, I still love this phone a lot because the devs never give up in developing new roms thumbup.gif

it depends. you would like more battery or more performance? if more battery, go for CM9 with kernel2.x
if you want performance, go for cm10 or cm10.1. (but the battery drain is very serious sweat.gif )

i will recommend latest cm9 or cm9 based rom. CM10.1 battery drain is really scary. Leave fully-charged phone for 8hours of sleep, left only 60%+ of battery in the morning. cry.gif In cm9, i only lost about 10%. the difference is very big.

iENERGY bought from tech gaga. 2000mah. rm 65 at that time. so far so good. As of today no signs of swelling and a funny camera issue i had is gone. I had the same worry like u abt 3rd party stuff , it depends on the third party brand i believe the likes of sunglobal would not give a problem and it was the battery brand i considered 1st. The seller was sick couldn't reply my pm so i had to buy ienergy instead.

Hi....just updated my Galaxy W with [ROM][JB][4.1.2][JZO54K] CyanogenMod 10 BETA (Build 1).

Somehow, the external sd is unavailable. But if go to root..the external sd is all intact, only by normal file manager it's unavailable.

Tried binding it with terminal emulator and directory binder however the app keep  stating could not find directory...

So sifus....any help.

i recently flashed my galaxy w with CM10 beta1. your external sd becomes sdcard1. internal memory is called sdcard0.
i found out the file manager that comes with CM10 could not view sdcard1. need to install other file manager to view sdcard1

i think you mean CMfilemanager huh? actually it can access your sdcard1 too. You just need to go in setting and change it to Root mode and grant it root access.

The problem is the file can only be accessed via root explorer. Therefore the card is not recognisable as the external storage and hence i can't install any app on to it.

For that you'll need to swap your sdcard mountpoint. By using root explorer, go to system > etc > and open vold.fstab with text editor. In there, you'll see a mountpoint at bottom line. Edit the sdcard0 to sdcard1 and also sdcard0 to sdcard1. Save the file and reboot.
Hope you understand smile.gif
