I am a mech eng fresh grad and got these two offers.

1.Static engineer in Technip
2.Global Rotational Development Program in Cameron Johor

Technip offer is dealing with technical stuff. While Cameron will be more on management. I am keen with cameron as it offers more exposure. However, I scare i will stuck in manufacturing work which i dislike.

Any suggestion?

Go with Technip.
Better option in the long term.
Good luck...

For Technip, would it be better if I apply online, or through mail? I'm quite sceptical to do it online. Do they take a proper look at the online applications or not :/

Technip giving priority to UTP/USM/UTM?

False!

There are lots of engineers/graduate engineers in Technip Msia graduated from overseas(UK/AUS/US/INDIA) universities and local private and public such as TARC/UNITEN/NOTTINGHAM MSIA/INTI/UniKL/UTP/UM/UTM/USM/KLIUC.

So please, dont spread around things such as this company give higher priority to people from these universities and so on.

Do you know they have like around 2000 people working for Technip in MALAYSIA only? 4 buildings along Jalan Tun Razak are occupied by Technip(including their HQ Technip building)

They are very aggresive nowadays. Many projects flowing in like water.

To all Sifu and Seniors,

I got a job interview from O&G consultant company and the position being offered is graduate process engineer.

May I know what kind of questions that normally will be asked when a process engineer candidate appeared? Is there anything that I should focus on? Actually I graduated last year and I think I already gave back all what I learnt to my professors already rclxub.gif

My major is Chemical Engineering. I hope all sifus and seniors could kindly provide assistance to me. It is kinda urgent as they suddenly called me for interview tomorrow icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Cameron = Valves

My vote goes to Cameron as well.

You will learn more there compare to what you will be doing in Technip. When you are experienced enough and want a slightly higher pay with a stable job and life, join consultant such as Technip, Aker and etc.

i was thinking the same thing. just that i worry that the experience i pick up in cameron will be too much about manufacturing.which will be irrelevant in consultant

Dont worry. Just be yourself and try the best that you can.
Since you are a graduate, the interviewer should not be expecting too much from you.
Most of the time they just want to gauge whether you have the right attitude and willingness to learn and get experience.

And whether you really want to start your career with the company, or just want to get the job as a temporary measure, and jump company once you receive a better offer.

The flow usually like this.

Vendor/Contractor > Consultant > Client

There is no such thing as joining Cameron means you cant join consultant later. Consultant will be like so freaking happy to have someone who already has knowledge and is experienced on certain equipment/package in OnG, makes their life easier. Dont beleive me you can ask anyone working with as a consultant right now.

You can be an expert in pumps, valves, compressor and etc. People will appreciate you!

But its up to you, really. Yes you can start with Technip no problem, just that you have to do lots of self-learning and seek guidance from your seniors.

Remember, you are a CONSULTANT. You NEED to know your stuffs.

Hello everyone. Im graduating soon in Mechanical and hoping to join the OnG line of career! Thing is, my preference is doing technical design stuff (doesnt mean i dont want to do field stuff, but probably not all the time). Any idea what kind of position/company should I be looking at? consultant? oil services? need some place to throw my CV at! tongue.gif

thx
