Yeah, bloody expensive.. interesting & cleaner alternative to putty though, as long as your application doesn't exceed 40 degrees. |

QUOTE(marauderz @ Dec 5 2014, 01:40 PM) Can't wait to see the results! QUOTE(feiming @ Dec 5 2014, 01:59 PM) guys, need your advice on filament size. What's the benefit of 1.75mm? I keep reading people praising 3mm 3mm filamentAdvantages: more material available per length which leads to slower extrusion rate means less power for stepper motor. Disadvantage: not Bowden tube compatible due to stiffer filament. Also, may have to make your axis steppers work more just to bend a stiffer filament around. Heat uniformity during extrusion is very poor. 1.75mm filament Advantage: better heating uniformity, and can be extruded using Bowden tube. Easier to bend too. Impurities are easily visible from the thin filament. Disadvantage: less material per length means more work for extruder motor, extruder motor will hit a speed limit when printing too fast. I personally never used 3mm filaments before but still, I go for 1.75 mm because its more readily available in 1 kg spool than 3mm. @feiming, Since you are selling M8 rods, I may want to buy off all of them once I get back to PJ this mid month. |

Also, here is a video I just made about hooking up a 6 wire stepper motor to a 4 wire stepstick output.
In case you can't see it click here This post has been edited by altan: Dec 5 2014, 10:50 PM |
