Hi all,

I would like to know if having a lot of credit cards will have any affect in loan application?
Or they will just see your credit history only?

wanna know how the bank usually give credit limit? Let say if with 2 cc then credit limit is about 30% of the annual income does this consider low or high CL? does high credit limit affect approval of a new cc?

For cardholders earning RM36,000 per annum and less, the maximum credit limit extended to a cardholder shall not exceed two times their monthly income per issuer.

Hey fellow Lyn-ers,

Have some Qs, need guidance here. I have this HLB GSC card, which I had for first year (this year 2nd year but havent been charged Govt charges rm50). My wish to terminate this card before the Govt charges, and I just saw the unbilled statement online, stated Aug they will charge RM50 into my account. Refer below.

Attached Image

Is it possible I just pay my usage, and terminate my card? Or I am stuck as I had used the card for AUG month? Please advice accordingly. I wish to cancel this HLB card immediately.

Just go settle all outstanding payment except the RM50 GST (cash deposit takes effect immediately or 1 day after).
Then call us CS and request termination. See what they say, as it is slightly subjective depends on case by case. Normally should not be an issue to cancel.

Remember to write down the date & time you call, and the name of the CS.

You should have send the cancellation notice in July 2012 (before GST is charged).
HLB (being a kiasu bank) will insist you pay the RM50 GST. Put a reminder to cancel in July 2013.

if the insurance is above certain amount, certain banks will allow conversion into installment, but none is 0%
eg. Stanchart

There are several Insurance companies that do provide 0% Installment Plan with Ezy Pay - click here and select Insurance to see list

Bro, I got no if Maybank AMEX is entitled to the Insurance Ezy Pay.

Any, for those with eTiQa motor insurance, they offering 10% discount via M2U online - go check it out.

For M2U online, you can't opt for Ezypay.
Installment can only be done by 2 ways:

phone - they'll authorize the transaction and fax you the installment form
walk in - they'll charge your card

Of course, by paying online you'll get 10% off from the quoted amount.
But you'll be charged one lump sum. I called the hotline this morning brows.gif

OK! I currently hold
Citibank - Clear and Shell Gold
& Ambank RealRewards.

What I want to do is to get rid of my Shell Gold and RealRewards card and replace with the following which I have applied
Citibank - Cash Back Platinum Card
OCBC - Titanium
UOB - Platinum One Card.

I have applied last week for the Citibank and OCBC cards. What is the probability of me securing approval on these cards? And if I add on UOB Platinum, will it still be OK?

A little background : Last month I took out a PL to settle all my outstandings which has been done. So it's close to minimum except for the Ambank card whic has about RM2K... Don't want to fall into the trap of outstanding balances hence want cards which I can recognize instant cashbacks and pay with cash as I go along.

I received a call from a credit card debt restructuring company. They offering to restructure all my card debts into monthly installment of 3 years at an interest rate of 9%p.a

Just wondering what kind of service are this and are they legit?

better call Bank Negara and ask for their service/support for reputable companies that help with debt restructuring.
