yes, yes and yes..........
I weigh 240lbs and if any of the spokes are even slightly out of tune...... I will hear a ping or twang before it breaks. Safe to say its cheaper to replace the R7s then the xero's.
I will pass on the 3D rotors.....oval rings are still in....interesting.
The Giant as is...is already plenty light from where I am coming from. My old steel framed bike is lighter then the alu Trek (bout 22lbs or more)
My experience moving from my old steel bike to a more modern alu frame was frightening, so much so the Trek stayed in after less then 10km's ride. And I was on a second set of Araya's on the steelie.Ā
Swapping in a second hand set of current model 105 grouppo for new is from a terrible habit of saving which I earned from starving when I was younger.
The purchase is not set in stone, my mind wanders.....KHS....POLYGON...MTB?....as is I am just really worried about the ride more then anything. Anyone know any 'local' forums that can shed more light on this ?
As you can see I am a hopeless data hoarder....cannot move forward without enough data.
....
I read about Lance by chance when he was just starting out without a team. He had the highest recorded tolerance of lactic acid in North America.
.....
The doc outfit guy, I would have clocked him sooner then later. How is one able to tell the road with the crowd ?
as far as i can tell you... the R7s isn't exactly the most reliable wheel out there... i own a pair of the 1st gen ones which uses the j-turn spokes.. the current one uses a straight pull one... and i broke hell lots of drive side spokes without much reasons... if you are worried about wheel reliability... i suggest you get a pair of 32-spoke set with mavic open pro... a properly build set of wheels will last very long up till the rims wear out...
was jokin about the rotors... it's not for most people...
i dunno how much you can save by swapping a 2nd hand set of 105 grouppo..and you risk it havin unforeseeable problems... i am not saying you need to build the most perfect bike in the world... but saving money this way might not be too worth it in the long run...
furthermore, if you take a look how much a set of 2nd hand 105 costs in BBS and how much you think you can sell it it making a profit swapping a new for 2nd hand group... that's like saying buying a brand new vios and swapping in an engine lantai from the chop shop so you can sell your new one for a profit...
that is the reason lance adopted the high cadence methods after he recovered from his chemo after teaming up with michele ferrari...
