Ok, noted.

When i say no formal membership i meant here in lyn only, because not all blmclub members are active in the lyn saga club, and not all lyn saga club are blmclub members, at least for now. At least, i am not a blmclub member.

I respect the genesis of the blmclub and the lyn saga blm club, but when i joined i never felt they are one of the same, so please excuse my mistake.

So that means any konvoi activity organize in lyn is under the purview of blmclub? If so then i'll just forget about it.

membership got official and non-official also even in LYN thread, blmclub.co.cc forum, fb, blogspot etc... some ppl join juz to get/read info about the car, some join to ask about their prob or questions, some join to make friend and outing... all those are non-official members.. u're only official when u hav the member number sticker... as stated in the #1 post, this thread is 1 of the sub-community of blmclub...

not every1 know about LYN BLM Thread = BLMClub... but from time to time if we see the issue or questions, we will clarify.. and no one also forcing any1 to become the member of BLMClub since there's nothing much also about it, juz a motoring community where ppl share and giving... connecting/sharing/advising/chatting among the members alrdy made u 1 of the community member... for example, we dont hav to register anything to be as 1 of the neighborhood gang/group/kiddo, as long as we know each other, we communicate, play together, that making us 1 of the community... any activity which is grand and big (TT, AGM, Convoy, DIY Session etc) happen among the upper tier of membership which doesnt force the non-official member to join, but we will welcome with open arms if they wanna join...

even in blmclub fb, specifically sarawak region, we got so many members joined, but the official members r less than 30 person (swk region only)... but every1 still sharing among themself regardless the membership...

even if u wanna make a TT or convoy among LYN members only also not a prob...

mayb i misinterpret ur statement above but i can see that u dont like to be in the community, may i know why?

hope none of my words here are harsh which can raise any misunderstanding and if there's any, pls let me know and apology come from me...

this will sound very absurd but i conclude this after interviewing numerous blm/fl users and compared their data with mine.

when the car is still new, the way the car is driven during the first 5,000km is crucial. If during this period, the car spend most of the time high revving and most of the time at speed above 90kmh, then the FC will be better when it is being driven sensibly.

But then this is just one of the bazillion factors which affects FC.
lul. tak baca first page ke?

Marah ke? Sorry, some not sooooo interested post I'll skip punya. Yes indeed, the beginning few pages I did skipped, as everybody is introducing their ride and their skirt/spoiler and accessories only.

Thanks for the heads up. I heard of that too, but my kawan-kawan also said its absurd. However, there is a morale behind this RELIGION. A car with crazing driving break in, the piston ring will be well GRIND in, so as the entire gear box's machines. And therefore, after the crucial 5000 breakin, the car is ready to race, and you decided to drive like makcik pergi pasar, your hardware wise is ready to take any type of driving with less friction/momentum to carry on working. So as the mechanic bawah pokok said, cars that already burning engine oil, smoke like DBKL spray mosquito repellent actually save petrol NOT because of the burning engine oil process helps to reduce petrol consumption, but the less effort to move all the machine inside the engine.

BUT! Very hard to believe lar!!!! How possible for anyone who spend hard earn money to buy a new car, than drive like mad cow whilst the plastic still on the seat?!

p/s: Not marah"ing" you Mr.V12 biggrin.gif

I am not the boss, i am just a victim of circumstances coz the previous ts was "incapacitated" when the previous version reached 125 pages and there was no one around to start the next version doh.gif doh.gif

Anyway, there is no formal membership here, unlike blmclub or PROSBOC, but we have TT once in awhile. We are also veri tame, no rally or gymkhana, at most some member sendiri go touge at genting.

As for konvoi, i am bouncing some ideas of an outstation konvoi, a 2-3 days getaway vacation. You intersted?  hmm.gif

2-3 vacation not possible for the time being. harimau betina at home wouldn't let me out that long, or I'll get earthquake. However, if got small-small get together, yum cha session at mamak, that I may squeeze in few hours by telling my harimau betina I went OT.

1) How do you hit 7krpm? I haven't even try mine, but I heard a colleague said 6k already cut off? So, does BLM's ECU came with speed limit cut/RPM cut? If yes, how do you overwrite it?
2) How's the petrol consumption when you drive like mad cow, for example those videos?
3) What kinda air filtration you're applying right now? Open pod? Drop in? If you tell me standed ori, I wouldn't believe you unless you have no filter there.

1) the rev cut is at 6,900rpm... some see as 7k rpm, hehehehe...i drive my car like that since i got it 2 years back until now.. the rev cut is from ECU and yes, u can remove it but really unsafe bcoz our engine is lean running engine... operating temp is very hot.. as for the speed limit i'm not sure bcoz the fastest i ever go was 160km/h only since kuching dun hav good highway... in youtube i ever watch a 190km/h blm... camproturbo blm can go until 220km/h (alrdy close to gearbox limit) but cannot count bcoz alrdy using external engine management (bypass ori ECU)... personally i think our ECU dun hav speed cut, only rev cut..

2) thru my personal observation, i drive slow or fast, my FC stay at 9km/l - 10km/l unless i do heavy metal flooring for long duration, RM30 for 100km only.. FYI, very seldom to see me drive slow... so my FC cant be count since i'm not a FC type of person

3) in the video, my car still stock, using ori filter and air-duct... am not lying... i juz changed to open pod for around 2 months only, that also after i changed my exhaust manifold (bcoz after u enlarge the exhaust flow, intake flow also need to follow)...

have u watch the 10.5 sec video? that's my fav..

Hey Omara, thanks for clearing that up. There is nothing wrong with joining BLMclub as an official member, it's just my personality makes me averse to large organized communities/companies/clubs etc. Which is why I don't work in a large organization, work FOR a large organization, or currently not a member of any organized car clubs smile.gif

The only reason I became the TS of this thread is simply i don't want it to die a sudden death ohmy.gif

In older gen cars with carb & manual choke, there's need 2warm up the engine b4 driving off. However one can use the manual choke to assist...

Later cars came with auto-chokes that provide same assistance 2enable smooth driving off w/o warming up the engine.

Modern engines are MPI ones with ECUs. AF mixture is electronically metered for best ratio enabling smooth take off w/o static warm up! tongue.gif

ps. I've nvr had 2warm up my FL from Day #1 b4 driving off. No probs... smile.gif

Full tank...I dunno. Usually I refuel when there's 3-2 bars left, never let it blink.

But based on my calculations, my average mileage for 90% city is about 10km/l to 11km/l.

pump full tank, reset tripmeter. drive until you wanna refuel, preferably go to the same station, same pump, same time of the day, and pump full tank again.

Divide the figure on your tripmeter with the amount of fuel pumped in liters, and you'll get your km/l.

Yup, BLM/FL's radiator also serves as the "oil cooler" for ATF from AT GB. smile.gif
There's NO separate/standalone oil cooler in BLM/FL AT cars...
Try trace pipes/hoses fr AT GB to bottom part of radiator...rolleyes.gif
Was same setup for old gen Sagas eg 1.5I Auto (1992).

Added on March 27, 2012, 11:10 pmMore info on how ATF in AT GBs is cooled :
On most vehicles, the automatic transmission fluid is cooled by a small heat exchanger inside the bottom or end tank of the radiator. Hot ATF from the transmission circulates through a short loop of pipe and is thus "cooled."

Hope clarification above is of help towards understanding of ATF cooling sys in std AT sys eg in BLM/FLs.
