Also possibly when aircon compressor cuts in...?

Firstly most 1st time in any DIY project is an "adventure" of sorts...
Sure got wan but it's feeling of pride AND personal satisfaction that yu did it yrself (AND NOT juz paying some1 2do it 4yu ) that's worth MORE than the $$$ saved!!

Frankly no one is cut out 2b a DIY-er! We learn as we go along...picking up Dos & Don'ts along the way as we gain experience!

Don't give up so easily...& yu're on yr way 2enjoy DIY-ing this & that for yr ride(s)!!

This sound is BEFORE engine starts...

Moreover, one shld NOT start engine until airbag warning light goes OFF! That fuel pump sound is heard b4 that....

That's prob when specific signs & symptoms with enuf details are not provided...

ps. My 1st Proton lasted me 20+years...
The only thing broken was its speedo cable which had nothing to do with how we use it...and a little bit of oil after changing it, made it last till the car was sold!!

Yup, gear oil replacement is VERY important 2ensure proper functioning & longer service life esp in autos.

Also advisable 2replace brake fluid once every 2 years. Brake fluid is very hygroscopic ie it'll absorb water vapour fr the air, and subsequently lower its boiling point.
Efficiiency wld then be affected.

Most posters here appear 2dare not do this/that cos of fear of voiding car warranty!
pps. Suggestion to TS : Mayb good idea to put Warranty cover periods for diff sys on 1st page of thread. This wld remove unwarranted fears as expressed ever so often in this Forum.

To quote :

1.2 Specific Warranty items :
The specific warranty items listed below are warranted to 12 months from date of first registration or 20,000 kms, whichever occurs first, after delivery of the vehicle to the original purchaser.
1.2.1 Battery
1.2.2 Exhaust system others than stainless steel

Hope others can pls also chk up their own Service Manuals/Booklets & confirm?

Do ensure yu get the OEM Module...no cutting of wires; only PnP nia.
Do NOT get the "Universal" type where need 2drill hole 4separate unlock switch".

Btw hv not recd Renewal Notice yet fr present Insurer. Thinking of renewal online...
Fr past cases, renewal letter also not state suggested NEW value but only last insured value.

Me browsed used car sales in Net & one 1.3FL Auto Feb 2011 selling for only RM35! Nego sumore!!

Yr dad need NOT hv 2get used 2it... Yu can help solve the prob!
Juz install OEM ABL...abt RM100. PnP module. Uses alarm reset button 2unlock all doors.

Re auto power window, juz install OEM auto window 4driver. See?

Easy solution...DIY...open car door cover, chk linkages & oil/grease them. That's it! (NB. Happened to my FL during 1st mth.)
OR... Do as Bro dares did...if can spare time, Send to SC.

Go buy a DC/AC Inverter unit. Can get fr comp acc shops. Select model with suitable output power.
Plug it in2 yr lighter/power socket. Yu can run yr laptop & most A/C devices fr there!

Happy 2learn yu solved yr prob oledi.
Fyi Power Output fr module shld b higher than that needed by yr attached device...2prevent "overload"?

Me using VZTec unit...max power output 150W c/w 3-pin socket, cooling fan & USB output. Got higher output units available...200W?

@cuteyman : Feel it's small enuf...possibly can fit into the storage space below CD HU in main centre console? Din try it cos me use unit only when needed ie not connected all the time wan.
