This review says the N9 earpiece sound is very low. Ditto the loudspeaker when using navigation. At full volume, it is only as loud as a N8 at 50% volume. Can you people confirm that?

Can you people confirm that? On the Dolby Sound from the Settings, it will be louder. Not as loud as you'll like, but louder. Aft PR 1.2 I've also noticed the sound is louder

Added on March 10, 2012, 2:13 amQUOTE(KennyKB @ Mar 9 2012, 06:48 PM) It doesn't really matter if OS upgrades stop after PR1.3 or PR1.4 By then the OS will be stable enough and good enough. Then it is up to the community to keep N9 alive by producing apps, tweaks and fixes. Your phone will be useful for a few more years until you decide to change it. PR1.2 should be the real N9 right now. by the way, Nokia representative actively replying bugs inside bugzilla, i got 10+ mails of bugs I vote D: This post has been edited by pikacu: Mar 10 2012, 02:13 AM

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Mar 10 2012, 12:03 AM) Yes, N9 and Lumia 800 speaker is soft. Lumia 800 is far worst. Lumia 800 has very poor music playback quality. It lacks bass and sounds muddy. I looked in Gsmarena review and the frequency response with headphones plugged in has a huge valley at the bass end. The Lumia 710 also suffers from the same defect. If music is important to you Lumia is out.

Yes, I was asking about the sound volume of 2 different thing. Earpiece for phone calls and loudspeaker for navigation. So you are saying, the earpiece sound is loud or louder than the N8 during phone calls. But the loudspeaker sound volume for handfree navigation is low. Right?

Yes, N9 earpiece is rather soft and a problem in noisy environment. In a coffee shop during lunch time I can barely hear the caller.
Here's a trick which can improve matters. Switch on the speaker and hold it to your ear. It will be louder than the earpiece.

What use is a phone if you can't hear properly the phone calls, no matter how good are the other stuff. May be I should just stick with N8.
