Do u really need 124 points for the piling works?? That is quite a huge amount.Initial pile and extension pile should have been of the same rate. However the price to supply the piles (175mm x 175mm) is quite cheap.Usually people would quote handle, transport, pitch and drive as a same rate.

Please ask your contractor whether this work will be remeasured as provisional quantity because if it is,then the amount of RM 68k isn't a fixed amount.

Cheers!

TQ for you reply. The numbers are as per Engineer's plan and all I need to know whether these are standardized or normal quote for piling.

The contractor told me that it will be lesser if the requirement reduce but as a layman, I find it very expensive and what you think.

Appreciate and thank again.

Hi Tom Jason,

Since you used 16mm2 Cable size, your house incoming supply is 60A 3 phase supply, armoured or PVC cable?

Can you share or PM me your buying list in excel sheet (if you have) for my own purpose house rennovation?

Thanks

If the engineer's plan said so then there's no argument there.I used to build an elevated water tank and we only need 60 something points.Your house must be very big then and your soil is soft hence the needs for numerous amount of piles point.

Other than the things I've mentioned the rate seemed reasonable enough for me.However please bear in mind,it's in provisional quantity meaning that the more they do the work, they more u'll have to pay.If the number of piles used reduce, then it will be below 68k and vice versa.

Cheers!

Hi All Sifu,

I want to build a house on my land and the contractor quote me Rm1.2M and he told me that only the house and not even include piling and just today, he provided me with the piling quotation.

I want to ask Sifu here is the 7ins. Piling quotation below reasonable or not.

1. Mobilisation, installation and demobilisation og piling equipments Rm8,000
2. Setting out of piling points @ Rm8 x124= Rm744
3. 6m starter points @ Rm160x124= Rm19,840
4, 6 m  extentiong points @Rm172x124=Rm21,328
5.Handle, transport and pich @Rm10x248=Rm2480
6.Driving of 175mmx175mm r.c piles Rm8x1488= Rm11904
7.Extention joints(bult weld) to piles Rm20x124= Rm2480
8.Cut off piles head Rm28x123= Rm3472
9.PDA test on 1st.  Rm1750
10. PDA test on Subsequence   Rm 1200

Total Rm68,240 and I am surprised and can someone here enlighten me on the above....

item
1. high, normally <5k in klang valley for 1st rig, 3k for 2nd rig
2. reasonable
3&4 . normally started pile with shoe more expensive than extension pile +-rm10
5. reasonable
6. market rate
7. on high side, weld joint for 7" <rm15
8. cut off pile above ground or cut off after excavate for pilecap? request for diamond cutting after excavation..no double handling
9. PDA market rate 1st rm1200, subsequence rm800-1000 depend on nos

by looking at the quantities allowed, i doubt the soil is soft, 124 point and only allow 124 starter & 124 extension, meaning only max 12m per point, sometime the engineer just simply taruk as much point one doh.gif

Hello TomJason

I would be very grateful if you could PM me the formula, please?

Great discussion and information, by the way. Thanks a million.

just to share...actually most contractor use formula to calculate the estimation of you renovation..else..how can they can give quotation between 2,3 days...if somebody want to know the formula..do PM me..

TQ..
after the selection of the steel iron, observe also for the sand type they use...the best sand for renovation is from 'mine/lombong'..usually the mine sand is white in color....the.....second is from river..or we call pasir sungai....normally river sand in yellowish or redish in color.....for pasir sungai or river sand..make sure that the river sand is 'wash' type...else....there is mud inside the sand..causing your concrete not strong enough....

for brick selection....if you got budget..use red brick 'tanah merah'....this brick is good and strong..it also..make your house cooler..compared to sand brick....for sand brick..the price..last time is about 0.23 sen ...else..the red brick is about 0.37 sen..price already gone up...for the red brick..the fully bake brick is good...how to recognized this brick?...there is some black color or line on the brick....

during the site visit i will give consultantcy, proposal and quotation. If you want then you can direct deal with the indon contractor/worker that i brought along or you can take other contractor. In that basis, if you wan to take other contractor, then when you deal with other contractor you will not be cheated.

Hi intention to convert my back lane area into dry area for keeping barang.
Make a concreate cement with 6 feet wall brick the put awining and grill.

1) Convert the grass soil to concreate cement with Y12. 10 x 20, thickness of 5 inch

2) Brick wall with plaster. 6 x 20

3) Grill with powder coating. 3 x 20

4) Steel awning 20 x 10

5) Create a 2 paip outle plus one drainage for sink.

Do you have any 'reliable' electrician? I need to do some rewiring for air con and oven.

between 5 inches to 6 inches less than that has strength issue. depend also on the contractor method of makin slab, the highest strength is using rebar bar Y10/Y12 compared to BRC.

A quick question.. Which one is to be done first? Sealer to remove hairlines on walls then skim coat or the other way round?
