I will be going to South Korea in late Dec 2012 (with two others) for 5N6D and my itinerary is as follows:-

19/12 Arrive at Incheon at 430pm. Take train and subway to Guro station. Staying at Daelim Residence for 2 nights. Visit Namsan Tower at night.

20/12- Go to Everland for the whole day . Take subway to Gangnam Station and Shuttle Bus. Some shopping at Myeondong at night

21/12 - By 7am, leave for Nami Island via subway and train to Gapyeong Station and taxi to Nami jetty for ferry across.
at around noon, leave Nami Island and return to Gapyeong Station. Take train to Chuncheon Station. Eat Dakgalbi for lunch at one of the specialty restaurants. After that take cab to Chuncheon Intercity Bus Terminal and take bus to Hoenggye. From Hoenggye take cab to Alpensia Resort. Check in for 3 nights.

22/12 - Skiing at Alpensia

23/12 - Take shuttle bus to Hoenggye and from the bus terminal take a bus to Sokcho. Visit Mount Seoraksan

24/12 - Skiing and take shuttle bus in the evening to Incheon airport for flight out.

So what do you guys think? Doable?

I remember the journey, but I don't remember the train station name coz got several interchange. I am in Thailand now. I'll be back tmrw. I give you the details tmrw.

BTW, from Gapyeong (the station where you have to stop to go Nami Island), you can take taxi to Nami Island. Cost only KRW3000. Upon arrival in Gapyeong station, chk out the Tourist Information Centre. Get the brochure on shuttle bus schedule so that you can plan what time you can leave Nami Island to Petite France. Once you arrive Petite France, chk out what time the shuttle bus service from Petite France to Gapyeong station. As for me, from Petite France I took shuttle bus to the nearest train station. Bus fare cost KRW5000. But I don't remember the train station's name. I need to look at my note first.

Ok, this was my trip to Nami Island & Petite France. I took lesser interchange for subway. From Myeongdong I took Subway Line 4 interchange at Yongsan station from Subway 1 to Jungang Line. The train will interchange at Sangbong station. From Sangbong take Gyeongchun Line and stop at Gapyeong station. From Gapyeong I took taxi cost me KRW3000 to Nami Island jetty.

From Nami Island took shuttle bus to Petite France. From Petite France took shuttle bus to Cheongpyeong station to return to Seoul. Shuttle bus cost KRW5000 per way. You can collect the brochure on shuttle bus service from Gapyeong station or Nami Island jetty ticket counter. They have Tourist Information counter.

You can use T-Money card all the way from Subway Line 1 to Gapyeong.

Tek kee, if you notice, most of the brochures on Seoul map and subway line you get from KTO or MATTA Fair does not include Gheongchun Line. You must goggle the subway map to get the clear picture on how to move around Seoul and suburb. I studied the map thoroughly and found the lesser way to interchange train/station so that I don't have to climb so many staircase. Yes, subway in Seoul needs a lot of stamina because of the staircase. Lift are for pregnant women & disable. Don't ever try to use it or you get killer stare from the locals tongue.gif

yup..this is very useful application! can estimate time, and prevent you from taking the wrong transfer. but please make sure you know which the nearest subway located to the attractions that you are going, as the apps didnt have features that enable them to locate the nearest subway based on the attractions/destinations.. smile.gif
