@gsdev

If you have read the first page, you could tell for yourself whether it is good or bad. By the way, your connection can somehow be said excellent already.

So I have a bad local & remote SNR margin (below 10dB most of the time).

i am just wondering if the use of my extension cable (15 metres from the phone jack) can have any effect to the SNR margin (based on the image No.1).

user posted image

If I do No.2 (which require me to extend the main phone line so it will be closer to my PC), will it improve the SNR margin?
*
Option 2 may be better assuming that the main cable is made of good quality cables. Else, no difference with option 1. If possible try using longer ethernet cable instead.

gsdev,
which part of puchong do you live in? You have similar SNR margin like mine. Be assured, it is good. smile.gif

No good. Low SNR margin. Line can be easily affected by other interference.

Average. But the attenuation is a little high. Try checking the wires and splitters(if any).

Not good. Very high attenuation. Maybe your wiring are quite old or damaged. Or you are using damaged splitters.

Your line is great. I suppose the problem comes from the router's firmware itself. D-link DSL500T do have problems on BT in certain firmware revisions.

Poor/old lines or faulty splitters.

Yup, it's not the perfect one. Changing modem may help but most of the time, negligible. You can try borrowing one from your friend before making a choice to purchase a new modem. Check if your line and splitter is okay. If cannot, resort to call telekom.

thankz mengsuan.. but dl bittorent is not a prob..
eventho i cannot surf the net, my bittorent still running on dl and up...
only restarting the modem will resolv my surfing prob..

or? did u mean that by using bt on d-link 500t, it causes all the trouble to my connection?... and if i upgrade my firmware, everything will be resolv? hmm..
i even do some port fowarding setting on the virtual server but everytime i restart the modem, the setting gone!!.. so does this mean it's the firmware fault too?
