I was wondering too. If call TM to report about low SNR margin, what to tell them huh ?

The quality of the phone line is also a factor for the SNR margin. Maybe you can call TM (100) and ask them to change your phone line.

My upload SNR is also higher than download SNR. Your SNR seems fine. Can't say excellent but satisfactory.

I'm surprised with that bad SNR, you are even able to get in to fast mode and not interleaved mode. Amazing. biggrin.gif

yeah.. always disconnected when evening time. I guess it is because of old telephone cables? if i contact telekom and they come to renew the cables do i have to pay?
*
Basically, they shouldn't charge you for changing to new cables. It isn't our fault that the cables are old right ? smile.gif

Although the SNR margin seem to be crazy but the download stream rate is only 896kbps ?

Just 4 info, did you guys check your modem configuration page regarding what speed is your modem sync with tmnet server currently while TMnet is doing their maintenance. Mine is 352 kbps for download and 512 kbps for upload. And I'm on the RM88 package. How about all you guys out there? and I'm getting a very low download (6) upload (10) snr margin. Did u guys encounter the same problem as me. I'm from penang.
*
Your SNR margin is really low and that would be causing your connection to be sync with the server at "weird" speeds. You should lodge a report to TM and tell them your SNR margin is really low when using TMNet Streamyx.

Guys wanna ask can low snr margin affect ur gaming?
My snr margin is around 7up and 8down
I can surf net and bt at around 30kbs
But when ever i load my online game i directly lost my connection.
I tried wif maple story, RYL, warcraft, RO all when i load the game my connection straight disconnect.
*
Affect gaming ? I think the a better way of describing the effects of low SNR margin is disconnection. If you have a very low SNR margin, call TM and report that. Not TMNet but TM. smile.gif

@gsdev

If you have read the first page, you could tell for yourself whether it is good or bad. By the way, your connection can somehow be said excellent already.

His SNR isn't high but to me it is enough though. My SNR would normally be around 14-15.

I'm getting very frequent disconnections lately, sometimes once every 2 minutes!

Is it Streamyx or my router? sad.gif

Disconnections on the internet connection is a problem on the line. If disconnections on your LAN connection then only it is a problem with your router.

Your DS and US margin says it all, your US margin can be said just above what is needed to maintain the connection but your DS margin is really below par. I think your copper line is in bad shape.

Check your micro filter. I suspect it to be faulty.

Hi guys,

Here are my modem stats,

Modem Status
Connection Status  Connected
Us Rate (Kbps) 512
Ds Rate (Kbps) 1024
US Margin 17
DS Margin 15
Modulation MMODE
LOS Errors 0
DS Line Attenuation 50
US Line Attenuation 50
Path Mode Interleaved

DSL Statistics
Near End F4 Loop Back Count  0
Near End F5 Loop Back Count 0

I know they are crap and i keep getting disconnections every 5-10 mins very frequently at night everday ....... should I call TM or TMNet since I saw some of you suggested TM and some say TMNet ? Thanks
*
The thing is I don't see any problems with your SNR margin as it is above average and requirements to maintain a connection. My SNR margin is lower than yours with the DS/US margin about 12-13 but still no problems. I'd say you contact TMNet first.

Call TM at 100 and report to them of a low SNR margin. Have them to check your copper wire.

The status is showing no problems with the line. The spike and lag isn't from your side.
