This car was not designed by Proton designers, at least most of it was not.

If you had even bothered to look at the specs and features on this car, you will probably slap yourself silly for calling it a 40k car.

Specs is 1 thing, design is another thing, proton are far way to go before we can see our belove country car maker reach the level of forte, avante, civic, city, k5 don't want say cause out from class, but personally i think myvi new design is up to the par of world competition level.

i think the design's not bad.. yes, it might be kinda bland.. but then usually this kinda plain designs ages well..

Huh? Adjust headlight height is not standard? No wonder everyone keeps blinding me... auto adjust (required for HID) is not standard (unless you buy HID), but a lever to adjust the height is standard, even the Renault 19 I had (from 1992) had it, the Citroen Xsara (2002) has it, the Renault Kangoo has it (2005).

@Vannus: LOL? 4 or more airbags for 40k? This thing is better spec'ed than a Vios, and will cost less. What else you want?

The reason why the Jaguar looks better is because it can be longer and need not make maximum use of the space available. So it needs to have a relatively short and high boot, which messes up with that design.

The rejecting of nice designs must be happening at BMW too. Look at the ugliness that is the new 1 series (and several other cars). Then the chief designer goes to Kia and brings out stunning designs. Huh?!

The new Myvi is trying to hard. I don't like it. I still think the original Myvi is the best looking one.

This one isn't bad. It is a kind of VWish design... playing it safe, but still looking relatively elegant for what it is. The rear is odd though... perhaps it might make a nicer hatchback?

I personally doesn't like vios rear design and it's overprice for an empty box. But I think proton should straight launch Tuah original design, when I first look at it, my impression, yeah this is really not bad. But when I look at the one they launching, totally 1 glance that's it, and my heart fill with hatred how come our country car maker can be so bad, and still yet to improve.

i agree dude..

designs r very hard 2 produce.. thats y concept cars r truly magnificent, but when the production version of those concepts comes out, it will be very much toned down.. there must be reasons y some designs r rejected.. cost is an important factor, n so is safety regulations.. during these modern times, manufacturers cant juz draw up sumthin n then make it.. they have 2 adhere 2 certain rules, meaning sacrifing on beautiful designs.. n yes i agree, rejections on designs happens 2 every single carmakers out there..

2 me, the new myvi isnt nice at all.. its trying too hard 2 be a successor 2 the old one, n ends up wit lines n curves that r unnecessary.. n when they make the SE n extreme version, that turns out worst!! the old myvi, especially the facelifted one was the best 4 me, even the facelifted SE.. its cute, plain n simple..

i do think its kinda plain n bland, but its certainly not ugly.. its juz a conservative not shouting out kinda design.. n some people prefers that..

imho, its hard to change the people's mindset as it has always been Proton for cheap car and meant for poor people. im not trying to bash or whatever but its kinda funny when you can even see hawkers buying vios/honda/sentra instead of persona. Proton, no doubt is trying hard to change that perception but i guess the 'overprotection' from goverment makes more people to hate it.
back to this car, you gotta give them some credit. the design i believe is on par with forte but as for the interior, it failed big time. sometimes i just wonder what proton is doing in their design department when they can manage to do such beautiful adverts but when it comes to their cars, omg i think only satria is the only one 'acceptable' in design term. waja had a nice interior but the exterior failed as well. perhaps they need more 'GEMAS' designers to work for them :/ But i guess all these are personal opinions as you can even see people praising the new SAGA's design. For myvi i agree that the new generation is trying to hard. The old facelift version was the best in my opinion.

Perhaps, design is never one of Asia's car manufacturers' strong points, even Honda & Toyota but the Koreans are doing a nice job lately.

The car has to injure people you run down with it as little as possible, so that waters down the design. Cost shouldn't be so much of an issue with BMW, I think they just try very hard to make each car immediately recognizable as a BMW, yet differentiate a lot (even from the front) so that a 5 series driver won't feel like they are just driving a slightly enlarged 3 series etc.

The design shouldn't be too striking either, as they want to appeal to as many people as possible... I'd rather have a pretty car that one that offends no one though.

That's why BMW 1 series can never sell well in our country compare to other car that has similar price to it. I see more Polo compare to 1 series which is really rare.

Nissan has quite a reputable for it's quietness quality and good reputation as car manufacturer, and how come their slyphy and latio is so bad in terms of sales and compare to civic and city? Back to design again.

I really hope Proton to make more up to date design car if the company wants to make it big to the entire world like kia and hyundai rather than selling to only us majority malaysian that has no choice or force to buy cause of the protection given to them.

so what car is nice then? Vios u say suck, maybe City eh? or Kia forte? avante? we wanna know ur taste ? i personally love Fords kinetic designs.

but i am impress with this P321A and probably when it comes maybe with proper finance situation, i will probably get one,

yes...nissan produce great car but the thing is nissan in malaysia isn't run by nissan
thats why their aftersales sark big time
thats why less ppl buy nissan even if its a good car

looking at the video, the brightness is not bad and the coverage area is good also. nice to have a HID

also, why must it always be a satria chasing the bloody car? no one else interested other than the satria drivers kah?
