1.8 turbo will be equal to 2.2 or 2.4?
if proton want good sales and better market share, the premium variant shld be priced not more than 70k. this car have better features and spec, no need tv ad or expensive press ads, hence budget can be use in QC and better features and quality. i'm sure many of us will buy and recommend by word of mouth they need to put more info on the website include detail promotion. saving printing cost and manpower. |

Brand still play a major factor in Malaysia. Even with tahi spec, people still buy if brand name is gooding. Proton need to fight with this situation. Smart ads can help Proton to influence and attract more potential buyer. This post has been edited by -cmi-: Feb 21 2012, 11:14 PM |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Feb 21 2012, 07:42 PM) ppl buy conti car because it has power, its fun to drive..it has great handling Don't forget Europe. Occasionally they have interesting and competitive cars there, such as the Nissan Qashqai (whoever thought of that name should be shot though, it took me months to remember how to write it).proton is trying to copy that but the thing is conti cars aren't very reliable because of its POWAH thats why when proton turbocharged the engine, they kinda limit the power to ensure durability and reliability of the engine handling is great as it got lotus handling T&H in other hand...they're playing it too safe in the local market they have competing car..but those car are only for japanese market and US A premium Proton makes little sense at the moment. The R&D costs are too big for that, even VW swallowed more than they should have when they developed and introduced the Phaeton... the only place that one did well was China. But yeah, the question is why would Proton want to do that? Only way would be badge engineering/licensed copies. However a sports car from Proton makes more sense. Just put a new dress onto the Elise and call it a day. It might not sell terribly well, but it could be good for the image, and it won't be that expensive to develop. |

usually people visit showroom to see and feel the new car when they heard about new proton via tv/press news.
strategy is, if proton not enuf budget, they shld save on ads, and spend more on production, a good quality car produced, and people will start talking. if u spend so much on ads, but still a lousy car, people will think twice. |

QUOTE(stargate8 @ Feb 21 2012, 11:23 PM) Must. Save. Money.I guess the Tuah rear was too expensive. I agree, ads are important, however they just need to be good enough to get some to buy it, the rest needs to be QC. Word of mouth will then spread, someone in the extended family will have one, you'll get to sit in one, etc. That way I made an Uncle consider buying a Kangoo too... |

a good strategy, always produce good quality products, people will appreciate it.
lousy product even tho is dirt cheap, people will always think twice. word of mouth is very very important. proton need to rebuild their reputation and quality, otherwise, people may just say "wtf lousy car, just buy myvi lar" or "this price and yet lousy quality, i better top up buy xyz" Added on February 21, 2012, 11:34 pm QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Feb 21 2012, 11:28 PM) another car which designers has spend almost all their effort on the front and suddenly they become dumbfark when it comes to designing the rear. sigh, tuah tail light shld be use, some savings cannot be save, u must invest to get better returns, some more proton want to market this as international standard car.they need better mgmt. QUOTE(turbocharged @ Feb 21 2012, 11:06 PM) just take nissan fuga engine bulat bulat from original nissan fuga. Sorry when proton have thier own 2.0 engine?just like what they do to campro 2.0. forget about R&D and reinvent the wheel. There is just a engine cover from proton + logo & name this as compro only.. If they have 2.0 why Exora still needed instead the 1.6 compro engine to become added turbocharged? All the recent 1.8 or 2.0 from inspira is original made from mitsubishi engine.. They is no such thing can develop the 1.8 or 2.0cc all is took from others cars company's.. How come no ppls can believed the inspira engine is original from lancer, when I have time must be left up the whole inspira engine and show you all the engine code and mitsubishi MIVEC engine lah, If proton do like perodua kancil or Kenari in the engine can find out the daihatsu logo, will be make the proton shy at all lah, so big company can't develop thier own engine an still wanna using 3rd party engine... lol Ha ha.. http://www.squidoo.com/proton-inspira-vs-mitsubishi-lancer |
