Was at Megan Avenue late afternoon just now & the area I parked, there was my 1.8 & another 2.0 as well as a Hybrid. How about that! All 3 models at the same location (not sure if 2.0 was navi though, kira same same la). icon_rolleyes.gif

More & more civic's on the road now. Surely a large enough community that someone will start some sort of club sooner or later.  smile.gif

Anyhow, SA called & informed me that my Boot Tray has arrived (one of the free gifts my SA gave me). Dropped-by Sri Utama @ Setapak & picked-up the boot tray. Lovely. Now won't be too worried with trowing stiff in the back. If there are spills, just take it out & hose it down.  thumbup.gif

From what I hear, most of the Modulo bodykits are imported or manufactured here locally. Unless, of course you opt to buy the whole package from with Modulo Bodykit from the get-go, might get it directly from Honda Malaysia. Nevertheless, there are a number of Car Accessories Shops out there that supply the kits directly to Honda Branches. They're cheaper & made of good quality materials (ABS/PP/etc.). At 1/2 the price than directly with Honda, why not. My SA told me that their supplier will be ready soon. Offers of about RM2-2.5k or so for the set.  rolleyes.gif

For the Honda City, I know of 2 Car Accessories shops that supply to Honda branches in PJ & Puchong. The rough estimate is about RM2k for the front/rear/sides/ducktail or so. Most of the shops supply tinting packages as well to the branches. These shops supply Modulo for most Honda ranges as well. Just haven't dropped-by at these shops to ask. Next months project will definitely include bodykit  icon_rolleyes.gif hehehe...

My thoughts is simple, how much can you afford to downpay and how much can you pay per month? And buy the best available car based on what your budget allows. At the end of the day, it all boils down to what you can afford based on what you want. You won't regret if you do that.

The issues I had to wrestle with 2 months ago were based very simply on what I was willing to pay and for how long. Based on that, both the new C class facelift, Audi A4 and new 3 series were out because I simply did not want to take a 7 year loan just to buy those cars. Then, it came down to buying a Camry or something else - all said and done, the really dumb specs and warranty of the Camry made it easy for me to buy the current car I'm driving now.

With the Honda Civic, it was even easier - as it was a 2nd car for my family, having really good specs isn't a priority at all. It was again based on how much we were willing pay per month. The KIA Forte/Hyundai Elantra would have been much better choices in terms of value for money but wife didn't want any Korean cars, so the choice was clear and simple.

The facelift is at least 3 years away before it arrives in Malaysia so there's no reason to wait.

Sure, it comes down to affordability then. Thanks again smile.gif. I think there won't be any regrets in getting the 2.0 lah, everyone who got it in this forum seems to be happy and little complains.

The 1.8 owners are strangely quiet though. You are getting your car today! So, hope you can be the first to give us the feedback.

Anyway, how sure are you that the facelift is at least 3 years away? Was that the timeframe for the last facelift for the 8th generation?

No regrets one la. The 2.0s is all in for 16k extra, the only thing left to do is just add an aftermarket touchscreen DVD navi and solar security film then complete. Everything else like what illuminated side steps etc is just cosmetics and personal satisfaction and that's it - when it's time to sell off your car, you're not going to get anymore extra just because you got an extra body kit or whatever. But for sure you will get better resale compared to the 1.8 owners when it's time to let go, this much I know for certain.

I just spoke with them....they claimed themselves that they are the one who supply all the body kit to the Honda show room (don know can be trusted or not)

new stock will be arriving at 15th September, 3 years warranty for the painting.....

in terms of material coz i am not really familiar with it, so what should i ask in terms of the material of the bodykit?

if you are interested perhaps we can order together and hopefully to get a better price.

thank you

Those who use boot tray....do u hear any sliding sound when u put things on it and do cornering? The tray surface is kinda slippery, not like carpet type...

I experienced this in my other car, hate the sound when do cornering.....UNLESS u hav nth in the boot smile.gif

I am a happy owner of 1.8S. No complain thus far after 3000KMs. I am ok with the power as I have owned something much more than that prior. Thanks.

There is always the option of turbos and superchargers for those who needs more pooowwwaaahhhhhh.... flex.gif brows.gif
As long as it's a popular model in the market, there will be bolt on kits developed for it. icon_idea.gif

We already have supercharged CR-Z on the street today. 200hp on wheel if not mistaken. rclxm9.gif

With the Honda, many ways of doing it. I have no doubt with them. Check out CRZ track run with AE86 in Japan. Wonder sight of it. Thanks. tongue.gif

Rotrex or Sprintex superchargers.. RM12K... But I don't think you guys want to put it on that fast, just enjoy your new car first.

Added on August 30, 2012, 4:40 pmThere is currently no PP material yet for the Civic FB bodykit though AFAIK.

That's very comforting to know. Did you change the fabric seats to leather seats as well?

Yes, I agree with you. For me, the touchscreen DVD navi is not important. Most important would be the changing of the fabric to leather seats as it would give the interior of the car a different feel altogether to have leather seats. I guess not much can be done about the 'brown' dashboard which may take getting used to (really wished they made it black or at least grey).

Does anyone have any feedback about getting the leather seats changed at VKool? Apparently HM says VKool can do it at RM2k plus. Not sure if its wise to do so. Also, I am thinking of putting threebond paint protection (also at VKool)... any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks guys smile.gif.

Did your SA give you the Boot Tray on top of cash discount? Mine just offered me RM1,000 off and discount on window tinting...
