I say the new 2012 Civic looks much better in real life compared to the photos I've seen before the launch.

Saw one white color on the Plus highway last night as I was driving back to KL.

Try to turn in a narrow junction with cars double parked the site... tyre hit the curb so there some scratches on the rim. Heartache.... Anyone have ideas hw to touch up the scratches on the rim? Thanks.
*
not too sure how bad is it, but I'm sure you can find a tire shop that will be able to repair it.

IMHO, I think it's not worth it, just change to aftermarket rims next time once you are bored of the stock one (assuming u still using stock rims).

I've learn to live with minor scratches, dings, etc, etc on my car. No matter how hard you try you're bound to get it sooner or later. smile.gif

Hi guys, do you face sone sort of hissing sound from the engine when you turn off the car, its not that loud but it sounds like somethin boiling. Checked under the car but could not find any water leaking. At first i thought it was my radiator
*
Mine a 7th generation and it makes the hissing sound also. So I guess it's normal. Ask the SC the next time you sent for servicing if you are still unsure.

How do you define as 'high quality' plastic? How does 'low quality' plastic look / feel like?

ABS start to work will emit a clicking sound? Why? ABS is not an active system rite? It only functions during hard braking.  hmm.gif
*
It should be active, it will constantly monitor individual wheel speed and braking.
If it detects the wheel locking up, it will trigger. Otherwise you won't know it's there.

If your ABS malfunction you should get an ABS light on the dashboard. Then your brakes will just work like normal non-ABS car.

For those of you that are very rev happy, do get the engine oil and oil filter changed at least at 3000 or 5000km. Just a recommendation. Honda engines are generally quite robust, it's the other parts that normally fail.

My personal opinion...

Petronas --> Ok

Shell --> The worst petrol ever in Malaysia IMHO. Even the current V-power is crap

Esso --> I like the RON97, the least knocking ever.

Caltex --> Used to be my favorite, but doesn't seem to be compatible anymore after my engine compression was increased.

BhP --> Ok

Speaking from my own experience... dun bother to get stuff from the SA, they just outsource it to the accessories shops and get a cut of the profit.

Ownself settle la.. once u get the car.

But how about warranty? I hope people here who mod their car can share the price for reference.
*
void warranty for whatever parts that was changed normally... If you change your audio player, that one warranty void for the original head unit. Other things not related like seat, door panel, engine, etc still under warranty.

just got my civic hybrid. Noticed loud noise coming from the tyres on certain roads. Wonder those Dunlop Sport 300 tyres are suitable for our road conditions & weather
*
pretty normal... certain tires + certain road condition = loud noise

i was using Yokohama & Michelin tyres before that. Never encounter such problem before
*
Michelin normally soft compound, Yokohama I guess should be similar.... premium tires normally perform better.

Soon it will die off especially if the disccusions are only about mods. Its always hot when u have a brand new car. Thats why they say, dont get over excited and start doing all kinds of mods. Wait at least 3 months and then see if ure still excited to do mods.

But forums are good to discuss problems and share info.

7 years owning 2 Honda cars and still modding... Lol

Can get Honda to install for you?
*
No matter that the SA promise you, make sure if they promise so called Honda install it's done by the Service Centre (you will not get factory install) and not by outside accessories shop.

SA promise anything to make a sale.. their so called Honda install is done by outside accessories shop before deliver to customer.

There is always the option of turbos and superchargers for those who needs more pooowwwaaahhhhhh.... flex.gif brows.gif
As long as it's a popular model in the market, there will be bolt on kits developed for it. icon_idea.gif

We already have supercharged CR-Z on the street today. 200hp on wheel if not mistaken. rclxm9.gif

well there is that route.
but a true blue type-r is more than just the engine itself.
firstly it has a stronger and stiffer body.
bigger brakes and totally different suspension setup.
complete underbody aerokit for down force <--- i dunno if other performance cars in its category has this.
*
Too true.. I guess with time and money.. Lots of it... You can also stuff in Brembo brakes, stiffer suspension and toughen up the body.

anyway as a DD car I never liked the super stiff suspension of the Type-R on our roads.
