"moderately" is a vague concept and means different things to different people. Like MacKiddo mentioned, you could survive on that figure by sharing a small room with 2 other people, but does that fit your definition of "living moderately?"

what are you working as anyway? Is it worth moving to Sg with a $2k/month salary, away from family and friends? Probably you have really thought it over. Oh well, good luck anyway !

depends how much you value your lifestyle in Msia. If you are those foreveralone.jpg type, then i guess it really makes no different on your social life. Also family's time to consider. There must be a 'value' you have in mind to give all that up ? What's yours ?

If you look around, you might even get a room (small) all for yourself for around 550SGD ++ (no aircon, far from MRT etc.) Living with 2K is achievable but you won't have much savings (except if you save like crazy~ eat roti everyday smile.gif ) . I concur with Mackiddo, depends on what you want in the short / long term.

I would say you could live quite comfortable with 1.5K++ (rent, food, transport, some minor bills) but this again depends on your lifestyle, etc.

they provide you free makan ? wink.gif can save a lot you know .. hahaha

My advise would be to stay near your workplace and walk/ bike to work if possible (also depending on rent smile.gif ). Even with the efficiency of SG transport system you will not want to cram like sardine to work and back in bus / MRT after staying here for a while.

well I can survive being foreveralone no problem, used to it.

actually what I really wanted to know is the minimum pay to avoid being paid too much below the market rate by potential employer..

Different people with different backgrounds, working in different roles in different industries will be competing with different "levels" of competitors who subject them to vastly different "markets" and therefore different "market rates" will apply.
