QUOTE(deodorant @ Apr 9 2012, 05:16 PM) MNC: junior manager pay. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17543356 Supposedly Singapore average pay according to BBC (no idea where they get their data from) is ~sgd3875/month. Anyway those numbers from salary guides from recruitment firm look inflated (even when compare with Malaysian salary guide), as most employees don't even reach that range, or perhaps I am that incompetent to not get that salary range

QUOTE(sylar111 @ Apr 9 2012, 05:33 PM) Dat is the thing. Many of my friends(NUS Grad, 35) are earning like 4.5- 4.8k. I would think that this is considered like a senior post already. Dun think it is that easy to make big bucks anymore over there. 4.5 to 4.8k SGD = 10k+ RM, big bucks in KL already, 5K RM also considered high income according to Jib gor =) On a happier note, 4K SGD you can live quite comfortably in SG (single, not sure for family though ~ even with the high rental for room).

QUOTE(roci @ Apr 10 2012, 03:52 PM) i work at IBP. now stay temporary at pandan gardens. but this area seems vr quite.. cant live vr long at this place. vr silent. bored!! wher dya stay and work?
tmr i have appointment with the agent at buono vista. room at swimming complex. 550sgd. isit okay?
For the rent you need to check the room size and facilities provided, etc. Some just partition their rooms or store room masuk 1 katil and rent it out Speaking of agents, most of them asking for the 1/2 or 1 month rental as commission from the tenant. I am OK paying the commission if the agent provide the service (pick you up, etc) but I am doing all the work (Search on the Net, call, got to the place, etc) and the agent just shows up and ask for commission. What are your guys/ girls experience ?

QUOTE(deodorant @ Apr 10 2012, 05:08 PM) The agent is supposed to take care of formalities for you. He checks whether the landlord has the proper approvals from HDB (if applicable), he prepares the letter of intent, goes through the tenancy agreement and the moving in checklist and other documentation prepared by the landlord / landlord's agent to make sure no crazy one sided clauses, etc etc. But the agent is the landlord agent =) . I met some agents who do not take the commission , they are getting it from the landlord.

QUOTE(extremepower @ Apr 11 2012, 11:21 AM) handling agents, better get black and white and from reputable companies. Heard few horror stories where tenants kena conned. Don't simply pay them without proper papers. Apa stories, do enlighten us Going later to see a shophouse room, supposedly the owner partition a number rooms out of the second floor to let out.

QUOTE(ivanswk @ Apr 19 2012, 04:53 PM) the degree only, mine one took 2 weeks, after that all was within 1 day If the Degree is not written in English (my friend one was from UM), they need you to get it translated and verified, etc. If the University is within the list in MOM, it should be quite straight forward.

QUOTE(LalaBubbles @ Jun 1 2012, 01:19 AM) True I think I should twin share. triple sharing is abit too much for me. so I have to plan my budget accordingly. any girl who are looking for roommate(not too far from tai seng), please pm me .... If you look around, you might even get a room (small) all for yourself for around 550SGD ++ (no aircon, far from MRT etc.) Living with 2K is achievable but you won't have much savings (except if you save like crazy~ eat roti everyday ) . I concur with Mackiddo, depends on what you want in the short / long term. I would say you could live quite comfortable with 1.5K++ (rent, food, transport, some minor bills) but this again depends on your lifestyle, etc.

QUOTE(LalaBubbles @ Jun 1 2012, 12:15 PM) thanks for your valuable advice i work in a food industry...so drink milk everyday...haha they provide you free makan ? can save a lot you know .. hahaha My advise would be to stay near your workplace and walk/ bike to work if possible (also depending on rent ). Even with the efficiency of SG transport system you will not want to cram like sardine to work and back in bus / MRT after staying here for a while.
