how to update sygic map?

Hi guys. Gonna get myself one Galaxy W today. May i know what should i do to it to make it faster and stuff? Is it advisable to root? And lastly, may i know what is COW Rom you guys were talking about? I'm new

sygic downloader ... i use that one only. it comes with it when you install sygic.

as per what describe at sygic page for registered users.

Map download process
All maps are downloaded using application called Sygic Downloader that was installed during installation of Sygic application. It is not necessary to download all maps included in map package you purchased, because you can add or remove maps anytime you need. It is not possible to download maps to PC. If you have problems to download map, trying different WiFi connection may solve problem. We recommend to use wifi connection better than 3G network.

Downloading additional maps
If you decide to download new maps that are not part of previously purchased map package, you need to purchase also additional license, which will include these additional maps, from http://www.sygic.com/en/android:buy-now. After purchasing additional license enter product code in application main menu -> My Sygic -> activate product. Active Internet connection is required during this procedure.


Map updates
Since version 11.2.5 (Android version) we are using latest Tom-Tom maps from 09/2011. All map and software updates which will be released are provided for free.

Update notification
You will be notified by android market about availability of new update. It depends on settings of your Android market. To receive notifications about Sygic updates go to Android market -> settings -> enable "Notify me about updates to apps or games that I've downloaded." In this menu you can also disable option "Automatically update apps by default" and enable option "Update over WiFi only". These two options prevent application from starting updating process while you are using application during driving, connected to 3G network only.

but those update only occurs when the app itself is updated right? like when u update 11.2.5 to 2.6 it will only update, other than that the map won't update without updating the version is it?

Guys, i need some help here.. When i do the cwm recovery, i choose the odin flash..
So i select the ancora.ops to flash with by following RZRecovery thread step.

So when i restart my phone and expect it will recovery mode, and i got this..


So i press volume up few time, but it had nothing happen. So i press volume down to restart it, after restart it go back to this screen again, just like looping all the way. Then i take out the battery and insert back also the same thing happen..

Hmm.. Guys, what should i do know??

Is it possible to update to 2.3.6 using kies only (without rooting etc)? It seems when it's connected it says no firmware update even tho its 2.3.5

Try using OTA on phone by go to SETTING - ABOUT PHONE- SOFTWARE UPDATE - UPDATE, register for samsung account when it require.

I used the OC version. and it keeps force closing. and i cant open anything other than messaging and music player..wifi gives me error so i cant download anything also.

flash to Cow rom...

got few problems...

1- Setting FC when wanna change default wallpaper during locksreen
2. widgetlocker wallpaper didnt overwrite locksreen wallpaper (no.1)
3. Some apps need to restart many times...coz missing after few times..

so i just reboot...then restart again in recovery mode as instructed by one of Sifu in here....

Then only able flash to custom rom..

About antutu score, your phone is still runing at 1.4ghz by default. You need SetCPU to set it to 1.8ghz, then you should see improvement on the score.
