hi masters... noob was here... what is CM7?
*
its some kind of custom rom based on gingerbread version i think. but most of us waiting for cm9 which is based on android ics version....

as below;

CyanogenMod (pronounced sigh-AN-oh-jen-mod), is a customized, aftermarket firmware distribution for several Android devices (See above for supported devices & how to install CyanogenMod on said devices). Based on the Android Open Source Project, CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors and carriers such as Google, T-Mobile, HTC, etc. CyanogenMod also offers a variety of features & enhancements that are not currently found in these versions of Android.

More Info & Community Members

While this build is heavily optimized, it is also capable of pushing your phone much harder. CyanogenMod and it’s team hold no responsibility to any damage caused to your phone, loss of earnings as a result of damaging your phone or anything else that is connected to the development of this rom.

For a list of devices officially supported by CyanogenMod, check out the official devices page. Such is the craze for CyanogenMod, that devices that aren’t officially supported, still manage to receive ports of the ROM courtesy of enthusiasts and developers. CyanogenMod offers the most barebone Android experience coupled with some very powerful tweaks. This whole package by now is not wholly developed by CyanogenMod developers alone, but is a collaborative effort between them and independent developers on sites like XDA-Developers.

CyanogenMod right now, is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and referred to as CyanogenMod 7. The variants of the ROM are split into 3 categories, Stable, Release Candidate and Nightlies. The Stable ROM, as suggested by the title, is the tried and tested variant of the ROM proven to be mostly bug free and suitable for daily use. The latest stable version is available for an assortment of the officially supported devices. A Release Candidate (RC) ROM may not be the final version, but a variant that has no fatal flaws or bugs, with the potential to lead to the final product, that is the Stable variant. Lastly we have the Nightlies, which are as volatile as a firmware can get. These releases keep coming at an interval of a day or two and if you do end up trying one of these, do not be alarmed if the your device goes cuckoo on you. These ROMs are largely untested, and as advised by CyanogenMod, not meant for use for an average user. These releases, are meant to test untested waters that may or may not break your phone.

Galaxy W sure does run out of battery very quickly when on Data. I run out of battery in easily 3 hours while heavy browsing. Anyone know how to increase battery life? Does the Cow ROM help with the battery life?
*
if you use oc rom from cow, u can run at 1.4ghz, but this mode, is undervoltage, so battery can last much longer than default rom.

i got not enough space when flshing to cow roms..any help sifu's??
*
how u flash? cause for cow rom, he swap the internal sd card and external sdcard, so sd card = external sd card, and external sd card =internal sd card, so u can have bigger space using micro sd card which will be treated as internal memory using cows rom.

so u no need to move to sd card anymore.

i just put the zip file into internal sdcard as his instruction xda there...recovery mode..then select the file...

btw..how to swap int n ext??? rclxub.gif
*
use cwm recovery, then wipe data, cache, dalvik cache.

then make sure the zip file in ur external sd card, then flash it.

once u manage to flash cows rom, then when phone on, then check ur storage, its automatically done the swapping. no need to do anything.

SYGIC can straight put in External SD. Tested. Papago need recompile APK to move it to external. I keep papago in Internal because its map is more complete compared to SYGIC map.
Import the CSV file to google contacts. Then sync your google account on your phone.
*
for sygic u use the paid version or ehem version. when i use ehem version, the map is like outdated, but since i like sygic very much, i purchased it, then when update the map, i see the map is now updated.

previous the ehem version map, my place not appear in the map, but when using paid version, the map can find my place with the road name and all.

my place is a new place, just 2011 being developed.

thanks.

how to update sygic map?  hmm.gif
*
sygic downloader ... i use that one only. it comes with it when you install sygic.

as per what describe at sygic page for registered users.

Map download process
All maps are downloaded using application called Sygic Downloader that was installed during installation of Sygic application. It is not necessary to download all maps included in map package you purchased, because you can add or remove maps anytime you need. It is not possible to download maps to PC. If you have problems to download map, trying different WiFi connection may solve problem. We recommend to use wifi connection better than 3G network.

Downloading additional maps
If you decide to download new maps that are not part of previously purchased map package, you need to purchase also additional license, which will include these additional maps, from http://www.sygic.com/en/android:buy-now. After purchasing additional license enter product code in application main menu -> My Sygic -> activate product. Active Internet connection is required during this procedure.

Map updates
Since version 11.2.5 (Android version) we are using latest Tom-Tom maps from 09/2011. All map and software updates which will be released are provided for free.

Update notification
You will be notified by android market about availability of new update. It depends on settings of your Android market. To receive notifications about Sygic updates go to Android market -> settings -> enable "Notify me about updates to apps or games that I've downloaded." In this menu you can also disable option "Automatically update apps by default" and enable option "Update over WiFi only". These two options prevent application from starting updating process while you are using application during driving, connected to 3G network only.

but those update only occurs when the app itself is updated right? like when u update 11.2.5 to 2.6 it will only update, other than that the map won't update without updating the version is it?

i think so smile.gif that's why i pay for it .. easy for me ..
