I would like to ask, what's the solution to the following problems:
- Constant auto reboot
- Lag

p/s: that's the complaint that I heard from my relative, its not my phone so I can't do some experiment on it.

OS: Unrooted Stock ROM(unknown version)

Will rooting it and changing it to use other ROM solve the problem? or there's a patch for it? or there's no solution for it yet?

Thanks in advance btw.

Me rooted. I found the problem to be with the launcher. Seriously... But i'm still using stock launcher because i find it simple enough to be loved but everytime i need play game lagless, I must clear ram(stock launcher also got cleared) then launch directly from prevously opened app list ( whistling.gif ) That way, the launcher won't be running when i'm playing game. Lagless...

So, if you kill the launcher, it'll be running smoothly?

btw, what about the auto reboot problem? do you have any thoughts on that?

I'm interested on this phone but if there's no solution to this problem, I think I have to resort to other phones

p/s: I'm okay with there's any patches or anything that is needed to be done, I'm kinda tech savvy.

Erm... Have you dealt with android before? Are you using one? Hmm... I can kill the launcher while playing game just for the game to be smooth. When you go back to home, launcher will still need to be launched. I got no problem with serious rebooting. Once in a while because I always try to open whole web page flash game on it. Something too intense for this phone... Actually, there's nothing called patches. First of all, when you want more access, gain root access. Then you can edit scripts, use custom roms etc etc. There's no big problem for hardware of this phone. It's actually all software based problem. Blame samsung for that. You of course should resort for other phone if you're not having budget constraint.

Well, nope. But it shouldn't be too tough though. Well, firmware updates are called patches in a sense(in a sense, when it fixes a bug). I'm not talking about auto rebooting because of that you had opened a resource intensive apps, but what I meant is that when it auto reboots when you're just opening the default apps and it auto reboots.

btw, anyone on cow's ROM or any other custom ROM's who are not facing any lagging & auto reboot problem? Mind to share some of your opinions? biggrin.gif

If it reboots once in a while, that's okay, because the phone needs to free its resources(but android tends to free its resources which creates a question mark for me, I think I need cow's reply to clarify on that). But still, once in a while is still okay.

But what I heard is that from my relative is that it reboots frequently which is a total nono for me sweat.gif

What rom do you guys suggest for more battery saving and less lag? I find that the Bionic rom drains at least 6% for 8 hours sleep . And really really lag.

1. re-install stock rom 2.3.6 (xxlb4) <--better than dxkj5 i used
2. root through recovery
3. use V6 Supercharger. <-- fix the lag
4. install adaway <--remove ads
5. install directory bind <-- mount huge apps from external sd
6. juice defender etc <-- basically cuts off you data/3g when screen is off (pointless if you want to keep online all the time)
7. use setcpu <-- set cpu speed according to your need.

stable n save battery.

They cannot do anything but enter download mode. I rooted . What i know is, whenever you send for repair, they'll reformat your whole phone.

Added on March 17, 2012, 4:22 pmBetween, can i have a proper guide for V6 Supercharger? I can't seem to get it working. I'm using Busybox 1.18.4 as that's the lowest version. I can't seem to find the init.d file.
