I still can't make up my mind to get 5r or 6 yet sad.gif

After reading bunch of reviews it seems the main advantage of 6 over 5r is

(i) handling
(ii) hotshoe
(iii) dual dial

but performance wise they are about the same? So is it worth it to pay extra rm500 for 6? ohmy.gif

Also i really liked the 180 degrees flip of the 5r's screen, hard choice argh! rclxub.gif

Btw i'm going to travel on the first of Dec, think the 5r and 6 will be in before that?

Thanks sifus for comments! wink.gif

I think there are two other big differences, NEX 6 has the OLED EVF, 5R doesn't.... and also 6 has the built in flash, 5R doesn't...

For NEX6 even in US Sony Store, shipping will only start on 11 Nov 2012. Don't know whether available in Malaysia by 1/12....

Is there anyone can help advise whether NEX 6 with auto ISO still gives priority to ISO first, then other values (Shutter for Smode or Aperture in Amode)?

Thanks smile.gif

the main difference is that 6 has the EVF, buildin flash and standard hotshoe,
5R has the touchscreen and 180 degree LCD

so see which features you require

maybe you can download the user manual and see if it can answer your question -

Hmmm i'm just worried the EVF will not be very comfortable to use given the size of the camera, hopefully both will be in before i travel so can try first.

Thanks alot! notworthy.gif

You can actually try it out now with the NEX-7, it's the same placement.

Or if you can get your hands on any rangefinder cameras, then that will be the same as well.

Does it really matter?

If you don't want your camera to exceed certain ISO, might as well lock the ISO at the desired setting and tweak around with the SS nia right? laugh.gif

yeah, but he was asking whether comfortable or not with respect to the size... not E/OVF or focusing style.

got the same dilemma as well rclxub.gif

coming from a point and shoot I'm used to taking picture through the screen, but sometimes under bright sunlight it's really hard to take picture. So spending the extra RM600 for the NEX-6 to get the EVF seems worth it hmm.gif

When you have seen the sharpness and color of what a Zeiss can offer in comparison to others, you'll understand.

I know because I've been in those shoes before.. I used to ask "What for spend so much on a CZ when other lenses will give you the same image?" I still held my believes through many TTs and outings with friends with CZ - as I believe it's the peer pressure which could be causing me like the lens.

It's not until I itchy butt walked into a Sony store in Times Square to just have a look around and once again, itchy butt asked the sales person to let me test a 24-70Z (perfect definition of SELF POISONING).. and bam! I felt it. I had with me my old Sigma 24-70. There's no coming close. Long story short, I have the 24-70Z now.

I think the 600 bucks is definitely worth it.
