just went to Sony Centre, asking about cleaning service if the camera under warranty and the staff told me will be charge around RM60-80...

is this price normal? if vs cleaning charge camera shop outside?
*
According to Sony Service Centre at The Curve, cleaning service is free for units under warranty.
Includes body, lens or sensor. Only difference is the duration it will take.

If not mistake the promotion started since F3 launched, I have no idea how to spend RM500 sony alpha workshop as majority workshop is FOC, seldom to found out any workshop need to pay for NEX(please correct me if wrong)

This should be the latest promotion for hari raya,

http://www.sonymakebelieve.com.my/raya_brochure.pdf

Which come with RM400 workshop + RM100 vouchers.

hi pal... good day to everyone of you...
recently i got some questions with my new SEL50F18...
when i was using AF/DMF mode (with peaking feature), the lens sometimes focus at the wrong item... initially, i thought it is something to do with the focal length. But I turn to MF. I actually can manual focus to the subject i want when i standing at the same position. And the DMF function seems like AF only, when u "fine" tune too much, it will auto focus again for you...

can some sifu guide me how to use it? cos it is like keep on focus at wrong subject... LOL

Besides, i do set the camera setting to "flexible focus spot"... is it adjustment needed at that setting option?

You're supposed to half-press, let it auto-focus, then turn the ring.

Keep half-pressing it to keep it in DMF mode. If you let go of the shutter, and half-press again, it will auto-focus again.

i think i should set the flexible spot at middle... this will also affect the auto focus eh??? hmm.gif

You could set centre instead of the flexi spot.

Flexi spot will be effective if u tell the camera where you want to focus, nex 5n could point the focus point by touching the screen, it will AF or DMF when you tune the ring. Flexi point will better if your objective not in middle.

Was at the service centre in The Curve to fix another camera, and when I asked one of the senior attendant, she said that it will be FOC as long as the camera is still under warranty.

Maybe you could ask directly at The Curve, since you would need to send it there as well for the cleaning service. Opens daily from 10am till 10pm, thus, very convenient.. icon_rolleyes.gif
There's another service centre in KLCC as well.

so solid example between F3 vs 5N of low light pictures.
But the significant difference is that F3
is bigger in size, built in tilt-able flash, 180 degree screen to let you "SS" with your friends or family  tongue.gif

5N is built with metal though
*
I myself choose 5n becus of solid body and no flash attach, and smaller, but sometimes will miss f3, because of the flipping preview screen and flash when I do BBQ with friend at night, overall feel same, and they have better twin lens combination. That 16mm is useless unless u want to play fisheyes. So go for f3.

if compare with 5DMII, 5n sure lose everything  tongue.gif  <<<unbiased advice laugh.gif
*
Goto dpreview, then do a high ISO compare for 5n and mark ii, hehe no lose everything, this tiny aps-c sensor can defeat mark ii with same quality.

Hi,

Newbie here. Want to ask about NEX F3, it can only fit the Sony Lenses? If can fit others, what are the choices? Or all can? Kindly advise ><
*
U just need adaptor to fit most of the branded lens, price from few hundred to thousand, LA-EA2 auto focus is fast but Somesaid its translucent mirror will reduce pict quality

LA-EA2 can perform like A77' AF speed, it pretty good for the fast focus

Liveview will update the exposure. You may see a fast framerate when the lens is wide open, but gets a slow framerate and ISO boost when the lens is closed down. You will see deeper depth of field when stopping down as well. Yes, what you see in the LCD is in the final photo. Automatic exposure works - I use it in Aperture Priority and it is fine when switching to other lenses - I don't change it from Aperture Priority ever. The EXIF will say F1.0 with a focal length of 0mm on an unchipped lens adapter or an unchipped lens.

It is pretty much like how unchipped lenses for Sony Alpha work, if you've tried M42 or Samyang lenses.
*
Hi Albert! Thanks for clarify this. I nvr tried any samyang lense before and this is first time I play with LIveview so dont know how it should work yet. Btw albert you have many experience with other lenses. In your opinion do you think there is any manual lens worth getting compare to the CZ24mm f1.8? If lets say manual focusing is not a problem. Budget about same with CZ. In term of sharpness and rendering quality while wide open. I actually have been looking for Voigtlander 35mm f1.2, but it is more expensive than autofocus CZ, but is there really difference in picture quality. There is no way i can test this lens. Assume comparing both lens at F1.8 (instead of 1.2) Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 is much compact but looking at the review the lens is not very sharp ... will it justify to get a manual lens more expensive than CZ 24mm? It is actually quite fun playing manual focusing on NEX, since I find nex tend to miss focus a lot more often compare to Alpha especially in low light.
