May I know where can I get the best deal for NEX 7 + CZ 24mm together? preferable without extra charges for using CC not enough cash....

Hi guys! First time checking in as new owner of NEX 7 + black 18200 LE! Pls put me in the owner list

My original plan is to get the nex7 with CZ 24mm.. but 24mm no stock everywhere.. and the shop manage to convince me to get the 18200LE for my trip. The lens look surprisingly good and proportionate on the nex7, especially with the black finish. I didnt get the kit lens set because my gf already has a kit lens on her C3. So I can use her pancake + kit.

I need some opinion here. I am still thinking to get a prime lens. I love to shoot prime. Do you think I should just stick to the cz24mm idea.. or should I go for some other manual lens... such as the voigtlander 35mm F1.2 /F1.4 I think the cost is almost similar.. I dont mind manual focus as long as the photo taken has nice character to it. Is the CZ really the best choice? Actually I kinda hate the CZ to be in 24mm instead of 35mm. 24mm a bit wide for my liking.

Thats not an option for me.. I have already sold all my Alpha lenses for the reason to cut down size on smaller nex body. So wont make much sense if I still get an adapter n buy Alpha lens might as well I get A77 in first place I already have a 18200mm which is Huge for Nex. What im looking now is a "walkaround" lens 24-35mm range which is light and carry eveyrwhere I go. I think that will make the Nex serve its purpose more. Btw ur cat is so cute.. funnny expression haha

Got any photo sample to share? and how the lens look on nex with adapter. suddenly im opened to mountain of lens choices.. until dont know where to start looking at. The only thing can limit the choices is the budget.

BTW suddenly come to mind. Since these lenses (voiglander, M lens etc) arent design originally for NEX... what are the other limitation of using such lenses compare to the original Emount lens?

I know the first thing is ... it is Manual focus only. Then the Aperture is set manually too. But is that the only difference?

What happened when we use liveview on LCD... and as we change the aperture... will the the liveview update the exposure as well? Will the camera KNOWS what aperture we are using and indicates our aperture in the screen? Meaning.. Will what we see in the lcd, is what we will get in the final photo? And will automatic exposure works with these lens? We can use Aperture Priority mode? or just SUPER MANUAL only. & there will be no EXIF data in the final image.

The adapters actually come with any electronic contacts? or is just to mount the lens onto the body without any other connection.

If everything works the same way, only Manual focus + Manual Aperture... Then I can consider those lens.

Hi Albert! Thanks for clarify this. I nvr tried any samyang lense before and this is first time I play with LIveview so dont know how it should work yet. Btw albert you have many experience with other lenses. In your opinion do you think there is any manual lens worth getting compare to the CZ24mm f1.8? If lets say manual focusing is not a problem. Budget about same with CZ. In term of sharpness and rendering quality while wide open. I actually have been looking for Voigtlander 35mm f1.2, but it is more expensive than autofocus CZ, but is there really difference in picture quality. There is no way i can test this lens. Assume comparing both lens at F1.8 (instead of 1.2) Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 is much compact but looking at the review the lens is not very sharp ... will it justify to get a manual lens more expensive than CZ 24mm? It is actually quite fun playing manual focusing on NEX, since I find nex tend to miss focus a lot more often compare to Alpha especially in low light.

So you are saying the Voightlander may even have better image quality than the nex CZ or 50mm F1.8? I'll visit Zaloon and have a test myself before deciding if it is worth to sacrifice the autofocus/stabiliser.

Havent test the 50mm f1.8. But I have tested CZ 24mm F1.8 and Voigtlander 35mm F1.4 in Zaloon last week. Didnt test the Voigt 35mm F1.2 because was scared by its price and WEIGHT! The Voigtlander 35mm1.4 is much smaller than CZ (less obvious for street photography) but the weight is double of the the CZ!! But the it sure feeeeellsss solid & high quality. Like a collectable masterpiece!

After testing both the lens.. it really is a hard call. I tested Voigtlander first. This lens has a lot of character. I seems to prefer the way this lens render the image better than the CZ. The color seems more natural to me... and the separation between object in focus and background is really obvious. When I then test CZ, the first few images i took almost felt.. Underexposed.. with bokeh behind object seems darker than when using the Voigtlander. The separation isnt that "beautiful" The BLACK is very BLACK (that's high contrast i guess)... btw im comparing them at F1.8 so it should be fair.

When comes to sharpness. not sure is it due to my manual focus skin not good enough... but CZ definitely sharper than Voigtlander. There are few photos if focus very accurately on the Voigtlander which look really sharp and pops! But overall, CZ win in image sharpness for sure. Color is good but more "digital" in my opinion. Voigt is less perfect but has more natural character.

Another important thing to determine between these 2 lenses is the minimal focus distance. CZ can focus really close, almost macro.. so for walkaround lens, travel, and food shooting is a pure winner here. Voigtlander min focus distance 0.7m!!! So this is only best for portrait.

Price comparison: Voigtlander with the original adapter = Rm 2480+-, CZ bout rm 3200+- ... I think it is a no brainer that I should go for the CZ with autofocus but part of me already fall in love with the beautiful solid Voigtlander lens. Is like comparing JAPAN (hightech & practical) vs ITALY/FRANCE/EUROPE ETC (Feel~ Love~Taste!~ ART!)



Leica M mount to NEX adapter (Voigtlander brand) is rm 480, zaloon quote me if i get the 35mm f1.4.

This is really interesting all the interesting lens suddenly coming one shot!

Added on August 7, 2012, 3:15 amFor NEX7 user. I wan to ask if there is any way I can preview my photo at 100% and scroll to the next photo at 100% without zooming out. I cant figure if this is possible on NEX.

On my A700, When i zoom 100%, and I scroll my dial, I get to see the next photo at 100% zoom. This is extremely useful when I have shoot a few similar shots and like to compare which are the sharper one. example compare eyes sharpness.

Pls share if this is possible for nex?

Guys.. Need a bit of help here.. Anyone knows where can find 24mm F1.8ZA immediate stock? Zaloon stock only coming in after 15th. I want to get it for my trip on 16th early morning. Im afraid cant make it in time.

Been planning to get the zeiss every since early of the year for this trip.. will be damn disappointed if not able to get it.

Pls tell me if you guys know where can I get it other than zaloon. Thanks a million!
