Haha, true that. Just a case in point, I've just ran a comparison test last week of my 50 1.4 and kit lens at the same focal length at f4-5.6, they are identical, and for the kit lens you get extra stop (OSS) and auto focus, so yea, there you have it, it's a powerful kit lens, has a lot of potential.

But being a prime snob, I feel more comfortable shooting primes.

Hey guys, is the Sigma 70-210mm f4-5.6 and SIGMA 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 any good? Both are manual zoom lenses with the Minolta MD mount.

Cheers! biggrin.gif

Yes I got this lens (70-210). Yes it's good and surprisingly clear at super zoom level. But I seldom use it.. Thinking of selling this off haha.

It seems like everyone's having problem using manual lens effectively handheld? We should have a TT session so that everyone can share their thoughts and skills after using NEX for some time.

Yalor...
Problem with mf lens is that you need to use the MF Assist zoom screen, if use peaking alone is not as sharp, therefore can be a hit or miss affair.
But using mf lens is fun, really special feeling compared to just point and shoot with the autofocus thumbup.gif
