Hi folks, I already own gopro and now looking for mirrorless for good quality pics, which camera brand are suitable for hikers or 4x4 traveler?

we usually drive all types of terrain, trails to waterfalls or camp near river. Would like to shoot sunrise, sunset, gang members and mountain view, most importantly how you guys protect camera gear to get dirty? because harsh and wet area will damage camera optics right?

And which camera brand are reputable on after sales service? Likes grpro malaysia which they very honored their warranties. thanks!

Seriously, I think the gopro you already have suit you the best. If you really want to go mirrorless and warranty is your top concern, then go for a Sony camera. They are better than other brands such as nikon, canon, fuji, panasonic is simply because you can almost find a Sony service center in every big cities throughout Malaysia. As for other brand, their service centers are usually located in KL only.

If you want your camera gears to withstand wet environments, make sure you buy camera and lens with weather sealings.

With your preferred brand within the price point, I can only think of Sony a6400 or Canon Eos M6 mark ii. If you want user friendly, sony is never know to be use rfriendly with their menu. So, just go for the Canon EOS M6 mark 2

The image quality difference is very minimal. Usually you can only see the differences if you zoomed in at least 100%. I would advise you to get into something like Sony a6400 and save your money for good lenses. The reason to go for sony is that you have the upgrade path from APSC to Full frame in the future. If you go canon eos M6II the mount is totally different from the EOS R and RP mount. OTOH, if you have the money to go FF body + lens, then go straight into FF. Any FF of those you've listed above is more than capable for underwater photography provided u can get the housing.
If you want to get Sony, at least the a6400, the a6000 is really dated at this point. If you want to go for fujifilm, at least get a XT20/30 body. IF you really wanted the flip out screen, then the XT200 is fine. Just don't go for the XT100 no matter how cheap it is, unless you going to get it for free. The AF is really slow on the XT100.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it!!

Unpopular opinion, maybe jump into smartphone photography. Invest in Mi 10 Ultra or Iphone 12 Pro. Quality up there with point and shoot nowadays, fits in your pocket

im looking for mirrorless camera for video, nothing serious but looking for best camera that fits my budget.
after googling and little bit of research, ive found a few, but still couldnt make up my mind which to get.
so im here asking for any sifus opinion here.

Type of camera/lens/accessories : mirrorless camera for video
Budget: < 2k (prefer used)
Your Location: Swk
Preferable brand : Sony / Lumix / Canon
Type of photography videography u want to do : video ( travel / vlog / timelapse / wedding / event etc )
Any specific models in mind? : a5100 a6000 a6100 / lumix gf9 gf10 / canon m100 m50 m200
Any specific features u want? : prefer if have flip up/side screen, 1080 is good enough not necessarily 4k but would be great to have.

extra question:

i) it seems most camera rely on 'lens' for stabilization, different brand use different term for their stabilization system, not sure if theyre all work the same,
for example, sony = oss, lumix = ???, canon = IS,
after watching some samples on youtube, it doesnt seems to stabilize much without the helps of gimbal. im definitely buying gimbal, so does lens stabilisation matter much?

ii) lumix gf10/gf9 is the only camera that have 4k with 'new' price tag for only RM 1600 and RM 1200 on shopee, seems too good to be true to me, any hidden downsides to this camera?

for budget less than 2K, just get the a5100 because u want the flip up screen/side screen. If you can stretch your budget a bit, go for the Canon M50. Forget about panasonic. If you going to get gimal, then lens stabilisation doesn't really matter.

I will cover my advice on the right camera for actual product photography to accommodate on budget.
Canon PowerShot SX530 HS; Price: $250. Point-and-shoot, Resolution: 16 MP, 50x optical zoom.

Or you can try under $500 DSLR Setup (almost)

Canon EOS Rebel T6 Digital SLR Camera Kit with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 is II Lens, Built-in WiFi and NFC - Black (Renewed)

hi guys,

Recently changed to Sony system and got a sony A6400
I have a viltrox EF-NEX II adapter but my canon EFS55-250 does not work and the EF50mm stm does not focus using the adapter

My question is, should i invest in a speedbooster from canon lens to sony e mount?

what speedbooster are there in market and which one good for value? i think metabones now got up to 5th version? metabones/sigma/ others?

still asking my local whatsapp group to see if anyone can lend me a unit to test out with my canon lens.. which i think is slim chance. that's why asking those who already has experienced this before

TIA

Hi experts,

Please help me out here. It's been a long time I've ventured into photography. Previously using Kodak C310 camera and DSLR from Nikon/Pentax circa 2008.
I am a newbie in photography, forgot what aperture/ISO does already. tongue.gif

Looking for recommendations below:

Type of camera/lens/accesories: P&S preferably, easy to carry around
Budget: 2-3K? Could go more if it's really good.
Your Location: Klang Valley
Preferable brand: Lumix / Nikon
Type of photography u want to do: Short distance family portraits, moments, video & audio for events like birthdays, anniversaries or just pictures of sceneries once Covid is over
Any specific models in mind? : None at the moment, throw all to me. Preferably Panasonic as I'd always wanted to get a Lumix & Leica lens since it was a best of class back then. Not sure if the same still holds today.
Any specific features u want? : What value added features does camera nowadays come where phone camera wouldn't cut it?
Additional remarks: I don't know much about the type of different lens length etc. I just need a darn good camera that have good auto focus which does not lead to blur pictures (rusted now). It was good and hassle free with basic DSLR back then. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Nikon was going to release the 1" sensor P&S but scrapped the plan.

There is Panasonic LX10 and LX100 II. Alternatively Sony RX100 VA or ZV-1 for much better autofocus & video.

Ahh thanks for the input. There's going to be sales for LX10 this Friday from Lazada for 1.5K. Do you think the LX10 is on par or the new Mi 11 Ultra could produce better images than LX10/LX100 II? hmm.gif hmm.gif

Ignore about phone. The plastic lens is too limited, you also don't get the perspective change when u zoom.
