D3x to D800 is USD8000 to USD2999
D300s to D7000 is USD1700 to USD1300 tongue.gif

Dpreview update : http://www.dpreview.com/previews/nikonD800/

Added on February 7, 2012, 10:57 pmI hate the ISO button on D700, it's too far for quick adjustment.
Sadly it's still there on D800. sad.gif

I find the button position ok, probably because I'm used to it tongue.gif I usually change ISO without removing the DSLR from my eye.

have you try canon pro bodies ? Their ISO button is next to the top lcd panel, very easy to reach.

Yes, I have used 7D, 5Dmk2, 1Dmk4... and I'm not used to the layout at all... each time got to either ask my friend (the owner) or spend some time looking for it. Most of the time I get annoyed and return it to the owner.

Hahaa cool question.
Another way of asking.

Do you need 10 FPS?
One answer YES or NO?

Perhaps the D7000 is good enough
*
Will be higher FPS if using lower MP?

QUOTE(Sadru @ Feb 7 2012, 07:35 PM)
oh? done some research and more people recommend the non-vc ver. + consider the price.
but really i had only the kitlens 18-105. selling it and get the 17-50 won't be a bad move aint it?

do people buy 18-105vr anyway?  hmm.gif
*
Yup, without VC is much cheaper and the image quality is said to be slightly sharper.

As for your question on moving, it depends on you. For me, I need the f/2.8 constant aperture. So, 18-105 or 18-200 is useless to me, if it's variable aperture. If you shoot outdoor daytime a lot and don't really bother about the larger aperture, then the Tamron may be useless for you.

So, I went googling for "D800 sample images", and I went like "My Eyes!!!".

Its looks bad to me... then again it could be a prototype so maybe the end product is better... or the Nikkor lens not good enough to resolve those pixels.
*
D800 and D7000 have same pixel pitch.
the official nikon sample images uses 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200.

nikon site getting overloaded now, but this guy mirrors them.

extensively use? you can't judge the layout is good or bad if you just use it temporary.
so far i find that there is pros and cons for both C and N body buttons layout.

look at the 14-24 sample the detail is so frigging nice !
pairing in such high MP sensor is really making full use of the lens resolution !

interesting comparison,
for extra 300 usd, i think D800E is ideal brows.gif

D800 $2,999.95
D800E $3,299.95

*above is RRP

take that, multiply by exchange rate, then reduce the price a bit. smile.gif
