hi.  i think im going to buy nikkor 2470 2.8 in few days...  but just curious..  when the new model come out?  maybe vrII?

just like 70200.. after vr..  come vrII then vrIII then vrIV..  bla bla bla
*
be careful with the old batch of 2470, they have serious zoom ring issue. Repair needs at least rm2k.
I heard they fix this issue on newer batch.
don't get 2nd hand unit if i were you.

How do you find it compared to 35mm F1.4G?
*
I got no experience with 35f1.4 before, so no comment haha.
you should ask celsiuz, he just bought a 35f1.4.

you can go to my flickr or Facebook : Teo Soonhaur for more samples smile.gif
and also my portfolio site http://maplewindphotography.wordpress.com/

I live at 15th floor...I never buy any drybox and I dont think I need it too =)

What I did? put a moisture absorbent in my camera bag, that's all
*
your 15th floor must be few thousand meter high right?
otherwise there is not even 1% of change in humidity doh.gif

this is canon one wide open on 7D

i used to have a canon 24f1.4mk2 before.
both are quire similar, nikkor one af more accurate.
btw, it's such a waste to use this great lens on a cropped body.

Apple screen has been factory calibrated before sending out. So i guess u should use the imac as the main display.

Yeah... I saw the other time Cathay has good deals for the TT1 and TT5. How much for your configuration? 2x TT5 and 1 TT1 + AC3?

My setup is similar to yours, except I'm using 3x TT5 instead... TT1 batt very hard to hunt here.

if you are a full time professional by all means go ahead with VR2.
Otherwise you need to think thrice to before throwing in the money.

im not a fulltime pro, just part time wedding photographer thats why im still thinking its worth or not to burn all my money for vr2..
*
I've tried 70200f2.8VR during wedding, f2.8 is too slow for low light.
I prefer fast prime e.g 85f1.8 or f1.4.

just my two cents

what body you use hehe XD
iso?  unsure.gif

just wan update my self for newer body in general term hahha  tongue.gif
*
I'm using D700.
ISO depends on the lighting, but i find that most of the wedding ballroom lighting is very challenging.
You need at least ISO3200-6400 to stop the action at f2.8 at tele range.

do you use 3d tracking all the time ?

i've tried the 3d tracking in d700, what I says its so-so, not that nice,
but the upcoming in D4 one is awesome, and its smarter than the current generation one  brows.gif
*
3d tracking is very good if your background is uniform with single color, it will auto track the moving object within the 51 af points.

99.9% edited! hahaha

what u can do, calibrate ur monitor. after calibration, what u seen, is what u print! brows.gif
and also no need to bother with ur lcd worst than monitor or else coz the color u seen in monitor is what u gonna get when printed!
*
Not entirely correct.
You also have to input the color profile of your lcd to the printer to match the color.

and lauya printer usually don't support complicated profiles,
and the color gamut that produced by lauya printer is not pleasing sleep.gif
*
haha, normally i print at photo lab.
It's more expensive to print at home, unless you are using those CISS(the color is crap).

D3x to D800 is USD8000 to USD2999
D300s to D7000 is USD1700 to USD1300 tongue.gif

Dpreview update : http://www.dpreview.com/previews/nikonD800/

Added on February 7, 2012, 10:57 pmI hate the ISO button on D700, it's too far for quick adjustment.
Sadly it's still there on D800. sad.gif
