guys, i had an urge to sell my 18-105vr to fund for 17-50 tamron
had some reviews about both VC & Non- VC here:
http://thrillmere.com/2010/09/tamron-17-50...-vc-comparison/

would it be a good move? given that i only had 1 lens to begin with @.@

get the VC, it as its own useful in sometimes

oh? done some research and more people recommend the non-vc ver. + consider the price.
but really i had only the kitlens 18-105. selling it and get the 17-50 won't be a bad move aint it?

do people buy 18-105vr anyway? hmm.gif

Ppl usually recomend 17-50 Tamron non Vc because of the price.

kit lens 18-105 kind of useful actually, but if u feel like selling it to raise fund may as well go ahead. But do note that alot of ppl selling their kit lens so selling them wont be easy unless u sell it cheap.

Anyway, u know better if u need 17-50, for me, that focal length is kind of perfect for normal daily use in DX, try to test it 1st to see if u like it then only decide. I dont like the exp of stiff zoom from new Tamron, maybe it will be smoother once its being used more often i guess.

I am more into weddings and portraits now...left motorsports for some time, but I have my D2Xs for motorsports still

but thinking of 36MP for portrait, when comes to photoshop, it will kill my time for editing!!! Imagine to remove a pimple using smart clone in D700 needs 10 seconds, with D800, i think we need 30 seconds... laugh.gif
*
Use bigger size for tool? It should be similar lo... I doubt you're gonna do 1:1 pixel mapping to edit, probably on a 12MP but unlike on a 36MP.

Beside the slow burst rate, the D800/E looks yummy! Only time I rely on 8fps on my D700 is during Motorsport, normally 5fps also sufficient... *Seldom shoot those stage fashion show nowadays, probably those too tongue.gif*

So, I went googling for "D800 sample images", and I went like "My Eyes!!!".

Its looks bad to me... then again it could be a prototype so maybe the end product is better... or the Nikkor lens not good enough to resolve those pixels.

So the D3X is dead? Wondering how much is the 2nd hand price when the D800 is out in the market.

so if you watched the froknowsphoto video,
he said the D4 would do better because the native already higher than D800

or you feel D3s is enough ? haha

D800 to D3X is somewhat like D7000 to D300s. Another tweaked or maybe improved D4X probably appear to replace the D3X.
