G is around 7++ right?  unsure.gif

QUOTE(Irbean @ Jan 29 2012, 07:20 PM)
ive ask this question previously, and imo, its better to save few bucks to get VRII, no doubt at all.
If like this, the original poster (makaroni) would not in the first place have said he has a tight budget right?

QUOTE(makaroni @ Jan 29 2012, 07:21 PM)
thats the most im worry about coz my hand is not tough as steel, just thinking that i must use fast shutter speed to avoid blur image with 80-200, if i can i dont want to burn all my money to buy vr1/vr2 just for VR thing..
Proper technique, higher shutter speed (after taking into account your crop factor if you're using DX body) and perhaps a monopod if you can.

VR might prevent motion blur from your hand holding technique. VR would not freeze fast action of the subject. You still get motion blur from the subject moving.

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ Jan 29 2012, 07:25 PM)
The focussing is insanely fast for the vrII
Yes, no doubt.

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ Jan 29 2012, 07:25 PM)
Hehe but the vr helps alot for wedding and concerts etc! You can shoot at 1/10th at 70mm where the lights are dim!
Of course. When the subject stays put and does not move...

QUOTE(seather @ Jan 29 2012, 07:27 PM)
i don think 4.4k vs 6.9k is a few bucks....  sweat.gif

for focus speed the new "re-released" AF-D version is still slower than the VR2 but not by much...

if gonna shoot at  low light @ 200mm... i guess VR2 is the obvious choice unless wanna carry a tripod around...

4 me personally, prefer the VR2... slowly saving up now  blush.gif
The AF-D can be gotten 2nd hand for much cheaper than 4.4k. Get it now, practice with it and when the time is right, sell it for the VR2. You could probably sell it around the same price you bought it 2nd hand.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Jan 29 2012, 07:47 PM)
ya learn from rosmah.... sikit sikit jadi bukit... whistling.gif
Follow Rosmah? rclxub.gif Dangerous lah. You'd probably end up with a D3X + 600mm f/4 lens.

QUOTE(Irbean @ Jan 29 2012, 08:10 PM)
then u should answer it yourself. If you can grab the VRII, and get numerous wedding job, u still can gain the return from the lens. but its just my opinion, coz that's what i do rite now =)
Equipment is one thing. Talent is another. I hope nobody confuses and think that when you have great equipment, you get talent great too.

I think the brand matter the most coz this is Nikon thread, thus all the discussion and photo sharing is based on Nikon gear.
*Correct me if im wrong.

hmm..guys, i have never bought any nikon flashes before. was thinking about the sb900. i read reviews and watch youtube, most of em said that the overheating prob sucks.

i dont do super fast events like red carpet shooting or whatever events that's super fast.

i do weddings mostly.

for those who's doing wedding as well n using the sb900, mind sharing ur experience? is it going to overheat easily if im using only the iTTL mode? or should i go for the sb700/800 instead?

thanks!

or u might want to consider SB910 as the option, the same performance with 900 and overcome the overheat issues.

was using SB900 and work like charm! fuhhhh super bright light compare to SB600. easier to took care the skintone. soft light and im very rclxm9.gif with it!

but 2nd tot, it was heavy. im using 97% manual mode. working at 1/4 power also need to be consider afraid it overheat. then i got hand on try SB700

dramatically lost lotsa weight! comfy for long time use. sufficient power for average house ceiling. bit suffer on hall but 3rd party white card help much.

one time only got chance to play SB800 and i dont like it because the interface not so friendly user as SB900/700 (many many button shortcut) and it can tilt 90 degree only if to the right side compare to SB900/700 can tilt 180 degree both side

To be frank, you can either post at Canon thread or PIC-A-Day thread and we can all continue discussing about Nikon instead of why xxx posting with yyy camera photo here.

Now back to Nikon topic rclxms.gif

good explanation bro, weight wise - i wud prefer lighter ones for allrounder type of thing n heavy ones for heavy duty events, thanks for the infos anyway. and yeah, most high ceilings indoor halls, i'd use the bounce card / lambency diffuser laugh.gif so no probs on that i suppose. power wise, sb700 is good enuf for indoor shootings? i might just consider it hmm.gif

RRP is rm1.6k (the best i can get), more or less is around that price. my friend just bought SB700, but still dont have time to play around with it.

for me its good enuff. mostly 1/4 power already ok. if u use burst low for D90, it can follow up to 5 shot

errr bean, correct me i'm wrong 16-35mm in FX is the equiv to 12-24mm in DX if mounted on its respective FX/DX body yes? The DX FOV of a 16-35mm is about the same as 18-55mm DX kitlens.... hmm.gif
