They did check one by one during last year Twin Towers @Live 2011. I've been asked to left my dslr somewhere else or are not permitted to enter.

I believe this year gonna be the same.

hardly see any fancam with DSLR wor. . .mostly they sneak in small compact or video camera
Singapore I heard if they found out at the entrance they will confiscate and put in safe box. But in safe box anything happen ie lost or damage I dunno lo
coz i heard cannot bring DSLR so i didn't even go for their SG concert (My camera D700 so big no hope of sneaking it in XD) even tho i'm in SG and even got OCBC card for early online purchases.

so, I think friday is actually a good chance to snap some nice photos of them since there is no way to control in public area

The last time i went for jung sungha performance at UCSI, Cheras also got same clause.. not allowed to bring video cam/dslr.. so i didn't bring my dslr inside.. but when I reach inside.. dafuq! people brought dslr + tripod somemore.. zomg! i should have brought mine also.. then they say, can only record the 1st video.. but i see people recording the whole performance down... wtf.. lolz..

anywayz.. how i wish i can go.. but my longest focal length only 85mm.. so.. most probably can take any pictures.. then kinda lazy to fight the "human tide"
unless it's autograph session.. brows.gif

true, if it aint broken, don't fixit
i believe, when you send these complicated lens for service, they 'have to' change some parts inside, because it's 1 time use, i.e. once open cannot re-use, as to get to the dust, the whole thing gotta be dismantled to bare pieces. rclxub.gif

hopefully someone has send it in before and can give some feedback, i have personnaly met someone who had to pay rm900 to get the AF fixed, he mentioned the VR had to be changed once it is opened..... shocking.gif

h0.3 and h0.7 means lower than h1.0, see the user manual, it is written there

Added on March 22, 2012, 1:16 pmsigma 400-1000mm would be great for that snsd concert shot from far away i guess

Sorry for the late reply, been busy. Well all you need is a mask and you're good to go! owh and a bright color shirt helps too laugh.gif

A read from one of the paintball photographers.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

If you're shoting from outside the chances of your equipments getting hit is like super low unless the person really doesnt like you and is aiming for you

but if you are like the photographer above who is in the field while taking action shots its a whole different story!

I've been taking photos of paintball games few times since 2010 and so far never get hit on my camera+lenses, only my body cry.gif . Just move a way when you think you're in the danger zone aka crossfire. Dont try to be like solomon, he was paid to cover the events so its necessary for him to have all those protection smile.gif . IIRC after the last event in Langkawi he had to send his gear to nikon for service and cost him like 24k or so.

u got use the paintball gloves before for holding the camera?
cos here of cos cannot find those fingerless gloves specially made for photos, and closest are those paintball ones.
reduce hand strain if ur holding heavy lens the whole day.

Never tried those paintball gloves before. Usually hand strain is not my biggest issues when taking photos of paintball, its the heat sweat.gif. In the jungle i'll be very very humid especially with the mask on compared to open fields. Its advisable to bring along a bottle of water whenever you're in the game area. If you have those hydration pack even better!

EDIT: old pic from Battlefield Putrajaya 2011
