Nikon D4 pricing in Msia...

RM22,388.00 RRP!

SSK selling price, http://shashinki.com/shop/nikon-full-frame...ard-p-9553.html
*
Surprisingly M'sia has one of the highest RSP in East Asia, Taiwan RSP is at approx rm20.4k and HK dealer is asking for rm20.5k(but they have larger market tho with all the mainland china ppl).

Am thinking of selling my D700 for the D800, but if they continue this ridiculous pricing trend on the D800 I may just change my mind.

Yeap, I'm getting worried on the D800's pricing too  sweat.gif . Actually thinking to upgrade to D800 already... but when I saw D4's pricing.. wow.
*
D4 pricing really is vmad.gif vmad.gif
and I'm afraid Nikon will put the RSP of D800 similar to 5DM3 of rm11k shakehead.gif shakehead.gif
I really wish the street price of D800 would be around rm9.3k, it would be a bad move if nikon price it too close to 5dm3 or above rm10k

why bad move? good move to nikon la.. coz got more profit  laugh.gif
*
more profit on each individual body sold, but total profit may be lower from lower sales, those who are looking to upgrade from crop sensor might consider the 5dm3, getting D800 would mean getting a new PC or Mac too for many since it require more processing power from the computer, and on paper it may seem to most the 5dm3 has the edge over the d800.

and those with d700 might think twice if the price is set too high.

I'm kinda disappointed with the Canon 5Dmk3 samples though, I read a lot about the ISO performance is D3s like... but when I saw the samples... some of them even looked OOF and look muddy... they should have at least hired a pro photog to shoot like Nikon did for their D800/D800E samples.

http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/samples/eos5dmk3/
*
hahaha. . .may i advise u to delete this post before someone who is responsible of pricing the D800 read this. laugh.gif
yeah agree the 5dm3 sample is absolutely rubbish. but it's not OOF, it the NR applied on the photo that makes it look blurred. Nikon still has the edge over Canon on NR processing.

I asked one of the camera shops in Penang about the 5DM3 price which they were told by their distributor, that it would be sold for around RM9.5k. Dunno how accurate was that, the shop owner told me that was his latest update thus far.

His prediction is that D800 will not go more than RM9k[. But don't take my words for it.

Added on March 14, 2012, 11:26 pmBtw, RM20K for the D4, that's a shocker
*
if that is real, i'll be over the moon!! icon_idea.gif thumbup.gif rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif
but with the pricing of D4 that sounds too good to be true cry.gif
seems like market like HK, M'sia & australia are paying to cover the cost for Nikon dumping on the US market mad.gif

what he said was based on his experience in the market trend. His prediction was based solely on what he had on selling the D700 and 5DM2 back then. So if his info about the 5DM3 price was wrong, then you can pretty much ignored my previous statement.

But one thing I also noticed is that shashinki's prices are normally not far off from the price in Penang
*
Cheh!!! based on predictions of old model D4's RSP would be less than 18k la. Shashinki is selling 5dm3 for 10.8k, so the street price should be about rm50-100 less only. D700's RSP is only 8.8k back then, it's a total different story now, especially with D4 & D800 ridiculous high pricing in other Asian market, surely rm9k for D800 would seem a bit far fetch now.

seems like Nikon doesn't appreciate all the Nikon fanboy in Asia. HAHAHAHAHA sad sad cry.gif

I just hope he's right, really.

coz I have already paid RM1000 deposit for my D800 tongue.gif
*
good luck, with all the trend of the other Asian market, i'm guessing the RSP would be 10,388 and street price would be around 10k.
I'm only on waiting list, no deposit paid, if the price is too high i might just cont using my D700.

Added on March 15, 2012, 12:15 amBtw, street price compared to shashinki's price is not that marginally little. shashinki's price can be sometimes RM500 dearer. well obviously depending on what item we are talking about
*
for most DSLR body and lens, the price is only a small margin higher due to delivery cost and insurance in delivery, other than that it is very similar.

My source came from a Nikon Malaysia staff too, no point speculating so much now. But if it is RM9000, immediately check my account balance jor tongue.gif

Hopefully... following the D4 trend it might not be at 9.2k though.
*
yeah, if 9.2k i'll do a striptease for them ar!!!! hahahaha
what seems like possible then seem like dream now after the RSP of D4 shakehead.gif shakehead.gif vmad.gif

noise is still fairly acceptable even at iso3200 for D800 and the level of details the camera can get is astonishing, and not to mention the great DR. Incredible!

*
can't agree more! Not only US, in fact everywhere that have received the D4, from Czech, Germany, US, Taiwan & HK etc all have XQD 16gb and card reader included. Not only M'sia cost a hell lot more, the service sucks too! Lousy Nikon Malaysia!

if NPS also no free XQD and reader, they should go and screw Nikon Malaysia. HAHAHAHAHA in fact so far every country that got D4 comes with the XQD and reader. Kinda impossible that Malaysia don't have.

oh ok, check shashinki, official SRP is RM1598 and they selling at RM1488, so i wouldnt imagine street price being any lower than RM1.4k.
either way thats basically same price as the 1.8D...
i would guess unlike the 50mm 1.8d and 1.8g, the difference in quality for the 85mm versions arent that big.
*
most reviews say the new 1.8 are much sharper at its widest aperture, and with the new AF it's quiet and much more accurate.

still must be something missing somewhere if the price is the same as the 1.8D tongue.gif
*
1.8D is made in thailand and made of metal, 1.8G is made in china and made of plastic. That might explain the affordable price of the new 1.8G. brows.gif

wow...
D4 price is damn high...
more den what i thought...
now waiting for d street price & see...
hopefully those pro will let go their D3s cheap cheap lar...
*
pro's used D3s will definitely be cheaper than others because 1)Pros don't take care of their camera, they treat it as a tool rather than a gem; 2)The camera probably goes thru all kinds of extreme condition and it may sustained substantial amount of scratches; 3)fairly high shutter count; 4)Extensively used

1D X is expected to be more expensive than D4 thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Added on March 16, 2012, 1:31 amanother reason why D800E is more expensive is because it comes bundle with capture NX o.O
