but it does come with malaysia warranty card, only problem is Nikon see the receipt that wasn't from one of the authorised dealer during the claim

if really can't claim, i would rather pay 500 more just to play safe and get 12 months warranty in case anything goes wrong like faulty sensor etc
*
basically, the warranty card must be from nikon malaysia AND have dealer chop on it.
if the dealer doesnt want to chop the card, then look elsewhere.

but i know of a certain seller here also who seems to pirates shop's chops...and no action has been taken yet.

so yea, safest is to buy from actual shops that u know are proper dealers.

not that i need to go thru them, but I'm afraid Nikon only service claim from purchases made with authorised dealer?

i can COD for the D800 if I wanted to, so still better than buying from online and found out to be a lemon good and can't refund.

Bro, can pm me who is the online seller? Might get it from them if really can save 1k from the RSP.

Yannick pretty reputable in this. You may call him as I just asked him this morning that the price will be estimated around RM9.5K.

He got his own registered company and providing you receipt with his company logo and registration no altogether with the stamp on the warranty card. Agito bought 24-70 f/2.8 and celciuz bought D700 from him without a fuss.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 21 2012, 06:27 PM)
17-55 i think not easy to claim warranty unless u got a 2010-11 set.
nikon sure suspect if u send in with fake receipt from 2011-12, but the lens serial dates to like 2007 etc.
maybe can be pulled off with lenses like 50mm 1.8d or so, but not 17-55 as u hardly find old stock lying around in shops.

x10 sensor is not faulty, it just doesnt handle bloom as well as ppl with sticks up their ass think it should.
1st batch, 2nd batch, whatever batch until last month batch the sensor is still the same.

for nikon, seriously doubt will have any issues with sensors...perhaps 1st batch or so maybe like D7000 that time where they over-oiled the shutter mechanism.

I tested both 24mm and 35mm, I preferred the 35mm's focal length. Self preference smile.gif and note also that the 35mm is better than the 24mm in terms of image sharpness especially on the MTF.

better, but would u be able to tell the difference in sharpness without a chart? unlike say a cheap 50mm 1.8d where its obviously already wide open its not sharp.
i see 24 1.4G shots already and its plenty sharp.

Initially when I first tested 24mm and 35mm at Nikon BTS, I felt the 35mm sharper. At that point of time, I've never seen any MTF yet or done serious comparison cause no plans to purchase yet tongue.gif (it was back in March 2011 as I was picking up my 70200 from BTS due to faulty AF.

I don't use 50mm much, only own a 50mm f/1.8D which is why I got the 35mm.

btw, just wondering on ur 70-200 faulty AF.
how do u store ur lens?
lying flat, or standing up?
would standing it up and not using it for awhile have something to do with it going faulty? cos of gravity and all the weight of the glass pushing down on whatever is inside?

u can assume L1.0 is 1 step, so ISO100.
so the other 2, probably say somewhere around ISO130 and ISO160.
