by default AS SSD and CrystaldiskMark write random data to your SSD to perform benchmark, its slower due to the data is incompressible(if im correct...)
If you want more accurate benchmark on AS SSD, click the "Tools" on the menu and run Compression-Benchmark.
For CrystalDiskMark, click the "File" on the menu > Test Data, All (0x00) or All (0xFF), both prolly same i think sweat.gif
The benchmarks numbers will be higher than "Default (Random)"
Its the same for ATTO bench.

as for the SATA 3GB/s cable vs 6GB/s cable, unless you are using cheapo cables, there is no difference between them in terms of performance

Do you really need your DVD drive that badly?
Most programs or movies now a days can be gotten digitally anyways.

Unless you're going on business where you might have to use DVDs for presentation or something. But even then, you could always result into using flash drive as storage capacity medium anyways.

My notebook is setup like this now:
- HDD slot using a 2.5" 7200rpm 500GB HDD
- Removed DVD drive and installed a Crucial M4 64GB in its place.

Windows installed on the SSD obviously and all my other files is on the 500GB.
If I need to install huge programs (like photoshop or microsoft office or games even), I would then just get the .iso files and use PowerISO to install it on the HDD.

To me honestly, it's the best way to use a notebook today.

Yeah mv91xx is the Marvel SATA port, are suck sweat.gif
my M5A99X also got JMicron Sata port, SATA 3GB/s, the performance is much lower compare to AMD chipset with native SATA 6gb/s support.
Change mobo if you can, if your mobo dun have native Intel/AMD 6GB/s SATA port.

Got money buy SSD leh brows.gif
mainstream Z77 should be enough and may solve your current slow ssd performance problem.

Same as mine, im using HyperX but all the readings are wired cause my write speed(426MB/s) is higher than read speed(380MB/s), and its no where close to 500MB/s sweat.gif
Although i updated the SSD firmware but i didnt bothered to benchmark it again doh.gif

i guess change the whole mobo just for another 100mb boost in read is not a smart choice eh tongue.gif but honestly i am regret to buy this board because i never overclock much after short period of time sad.gif

Try to play a song in the background or something.
That improves your benchmarking read speed, at least for mine.

I'm looking for SSD and budgeting about RM400-RM500 for a 120GB size. Currently looking at Sandisk Extreme SSD 120GB at RM440, any better recommendations?

Side note, how much does those 2.5" to 3.5" bracket costs?

Yes possible.
You need to find a caddy for the 1555 though, like this: http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?ma...products_id=282
