QUOTE(dvinez @ Feb 16 2012, 09:26 AM) ya its a miracle lol for a 2.0 c segment. What so miracle with it? Biasa je tu.the 1.6, are said to be 65k but of course others complain so no way to get that. Last generation Elantra HD also price below 100K. The Forte shares the same platform as the Hyundai Elantra (HD). So Forte follow Elantra price. Elantra MD is a new car & said to share same platform wt Forte 2013. |

Personally i think vios seated the best sales for non national car as vios fit the few criteria for the Malaysian preference.
- Fuel consumption - Resale value - Reliability - Affordable price and running cost - First entry for non national car - Worth for money (due to above reasons) Look? After buy it.. most owner mind will be ---> my vios hensem oso ma!! SD need to price elantra nicely (lower |

QUOTE(caddilac @ Feb 15 2012, 03:14 PM) Latio selling so badly maybe Nissan no reputation also... But then GL selling so well... You must remember that most people who buys Camry/Accord/Optima/Mazda 6 are 'Ah Peks' or people with 'Ah Pek' taste. Mazda6 is too sporty for them i guess. Why 110k don't want to go EON? Not 1.1million... sell in small numbers also have to see how small or big is it... Mazda6 got look + goodies + Japan reputation, but the sales Btw, IMHO this card will ONLY sell well if the price is right. No matter how advanced the car is, if the price is too high, Malaysians will go for Japanese. Fact. |

Those ah Pek justified the car with it's reliabity (Quiet, no road noise), affordable at their age and most important "branded car", not outlook itself, so their perspective is different from the young ppl.Btw, IMHO this card will ONLY sell well if the price is right. Hyundai is the 1st korea car who want to pair its C segment car to T and H level, definitely Forte will follow the trend too except for Proton.- Fuel consumption - Resale value - Reliability - Affordable price and running cost - First entry for non national car - Worth for money (due to above reasons) Look? Please... It's not that Ah Peks only will buy D-segment, only Ah Peks can *afford* D-segment in this country thanks to you know what. If your thinking is so narrow then you will one day become an Ah Pek who drives a Camry because you think this is what Ah Peks should be driving and nothing more. You obviously haven't driven an Accord or M6 have you? A tricked out D-segment is gorgeous to behold and costs a whole lot more to trick out, which the ordinary citizen cannot afford to do. Besides, D-segment is considered a normal sized family sedan in US and most parts of the developed world while C-segment is popular not because it is sporty but more so because it is an econobox and cheap to run. Please don't generalize things you obviously know nothing about. Added on February 16, 2012, 12:06 pm Nope, the previous Avante didn't have much of what is offered on the Forte including the engines, plus it looked a little funny from the front. And because SD was the company behind it And you havent got a d segment car right? Whats the rage? And yes. Accord or 407 handles pretty well. So? Who wanna race anyway. |

I think this is a silly & over-generalised statement. Many ppl i know who drive these D segment cars are middle management corp faces. You may get some of your 'ah peks' driving but thats only because they have sufficient income to afford. But to generalise and say that most of them are such is an understatement. Lets leave such statements out of these discussions and lets keep our threads as mature as we can. Added on February 16, 2012, 12:28 pm QUOTE(turbocharged @ Feb 16 2012, 12:12 PM) Chill man. Its about the other guy's statement which is silly and surely unwanted on this thread. If he wasnt born yesterday then he should have have refrained from making such 'yesterday' statements right? And you havent got a d segment car right? Whats the rage? And yes. Accord or 407 handles pretty well. So? Who wanna race anyway. Lets get back to cars. QUOTE(maverickng @ Feb 16 2012, 01:10 PM) i dont care what they are saying,i am buying korean,(Kia or hyundai) Tats why Kia priced their Forte near younger generation range (age 25-35) since their main target is this group of consumer. The brand and look of the car might have prompted them to use that strategy. just wan to say that T&H many supporter mostly is age 50+ up ppl.. i am not flamming T&H not good car or something, they both are good and excelent(my family own a civic2.0&camry 2.0) since the korean car have improved so much huge,we should give it a try to own it..so this time i am choosing korean car..still waiting pricing for this elantra, too high price and not worth to buy,i will go for Kia or mayb back to J-car As for Elantra maybe SD themselves haven’t got a clue on their strategy yet. If the one who can afford doesn’t feel appeal about the car and the one who like the car are priced out of their budget, then the car can become another crap in Malaysia, just like Hyundai i30. |
