isaacmiranda7, would u prefer e-drums for practicing ?
*
If I had the choice, I'd definitely go for acoustic, but in my current situation, I'd have to go with e-drums. smile.gif I mean, obviously I could mute up my acoustics la, but I like being able to hear and "feel" more of what I'm playing. Why?

for silent practice just put any shirt on the cymbals and toms..cheapest way imo

yeah sure u didnt get the feeling and the sound, but at least u get to practice ur chops..haha

electronics the way to go bro..but make sure u try to play in a acoustic setting once in a while, cuz the bounciness of pad and toms are totally different..if u play fast in electronic, doesnt mean ur playing in acoustic is the same too..

Yea the pad like terlampau bouncy laugh.gif

So depending on how you set it up, the response may differ? I didn't know that. So how do you set it up correctly? I mean to get the best response? smile.gif

I have to loosen up some screws so that the mesh head is just not to bouncy. So it will feel close to the accoustic drum. Of course you need to spent some time adjusting the parameters after that. It just a matter of taste.

Yeeeeah. HAHA! Or use silent sticks. smile.gif I'm thinking of going down that path, but then I'd be wasting the heads. tongue.gif

Noobie drummer here...

Can anyone suggest a good twin pedal around RM1k. Doesn't matter if it is new or used. If RM1k won't get me a good twin pedal, how much do I need to top up?

Thanks.

You should be able to grab a Tama Iron Cobra for under RM1k used. smile.gif I used one of them for one and a half years, and to date, even with my current Yamaha's (which I'm very happy with wink.gif ) I don't regret them at all. They are extremely good, sturdy double chain pedals. Topup about RM500 and you could probably get them new.

What is your take on other make like Gibraltar, DW, Pearl and Yamaha?

Its honestly all up to you. smile.gif Most people go for Power or Rolling though.

I used to have a set of Rolling Glides but I've played extensively on the Power Glides as well. The Rolling Glides just seem smoother, while the Power Glides have that extra piece of "ooomph" to the feel of the kick. If you do get more cash on hand, do try the newer Tama Speed Cobras.

The Gibraltar pedals are very value for money and are the only "budget" ones that I'd recommend at lower price-points with solid hardware and such.

Never really been a fan of the Pearl Eliminators (the 2000) series, but the Demon Drive (the 3000) is very smooth to the touch, and extremely response.

The DW9000 (again, probably out of your reach at the moment) are really good pedals that a lot of pros (and other players) use. And right now I'm using a set of Yamaha DFP4500s, the last pedals to be made in Japan, as Yamaha has now moved its production somewhere down south. Really smooth, I like the feel and the hardware, no problems thus far.

Thanks for the recommendation. There's a guy selling his DW9002 in the Trade Zone but unfortunately is way out of my budget.

Really pumped up on learning twin pedal after watching these: smile.gif
