Hi everybody, I don't know if I am in the right thread.
I just played drummania for a few months, and I got addicted to drumming !!! drool.gif
I have no music background or played any musical instruments before.

I want to ask you all pro drummers here.....

I am just wondering how close is this drummania game to the real drums???

If you play the game progresses to medium and to expert level is pretty real like playing a real drum.

I wish to seek your advise here, and where shall I start, if I were to play real drums? Drumming lessons???
I see Yamaha DTX drums seems to be feasible.....

Can drumming be self-thaught or self-learned? hmm.gif

You can learn drums on your own, via youtube and online resources. BUT, if you can afford it, try to get a good teacher to get the basics right, if u start with good foundation, u can go further much faster.

Yup. Agree with subber. If u can afford Yamaha dtx, u can afford a good teacher. Learn the basics, get the foundation right. Till u r good enough to learn by ur own..

What's ur budget for a drumset? U wanna go for acoustic or electric drums? U see, I have a drummer and a guitarist friend. Very good in drumming and guitar playing but can't play drummania and guitar hero. They r totally diff thing.

Y do u need to connect it to computer? This is my experience, unless u go for electronic drums that costs more than rm8k and above. Anything below that, u r just hitting on a rubber pad and it won't feel like real drumming

Nothing is easy. If it's easy, u won't need to learn. Like breathing, eating etc. I always believe if u have interest in smth, it won't be difficult for u to learn.

Yeah, its the camera angle.
I've been mixing (first attempt tongue.gif) the drums with the rest of the tracks, and I'm not too happy with the whole thing in general la. It sounds like, an OKAY demo. I wouldn't dream of putting it out on radio. Oh well. I guess we'll get better as we go along. tongue.gif

Nope i started on a 2nd hand roland td4 and it doesnt cost 8k. It still helps me develop my skills and after playing for 1-2 yrs only i switch to acoustic set. Doesnt really feel much different to play basic stuff.

Haha. I have a few of these friends too.

I'm a kinda good guitar player(started only last year, but according to a teacher of my friend I'm quite talented hmm.gif) and I'm a huge gamer. Especially rhythm/music games like o2jam haha. Finished every song on expert in GH3 lol. Not much now though.

They're totally different things. As for drummania, the beats and timing don't match with the song itself. Its usually slower. Confusing as hell.

A good player doesn't need a good sound engineer.

But even if you have a bad player, a good sound engineer can fix everything. Lol. Sad but true.
