applied essential supp and the CS call me back for verification.
i asked them whether they will send me renew Fortune cc and supp card before expiry date and she told me will send one month before expiry, if less than 2 weeks still didn't receive just call them. so what my sis in law who work in hlb said is true, the fortune will continue for existing customer even though discontinued for new customer. |

Hong leong Connect 0% FPP,
anyone here use FPP Credit of new purchases as payment to offset statement balance? Eg Fortune Card statement dated 31.1.2020 , amount due RM10000 (actual retail transactions RM5000, another Rm5000 from previous FPP installments) by 20.2.2020. Say you swipe RM10000 after statement date, eg 5.2.2020 and applied for another FPP for it, do you guys use this FPP Credit RM10,000 as payment to ffset that statement amount RM10000 due on 20.2.2020 , that means you dont make any payment at all to that statement dated 31.1.2020, sort of using new FPP to pay them all. |

FYI, dont apply FPP for fortune as this will deduct from the annual RM108k spend |

Thanks, that was what i thought correct i had done it that way few months back and ok. Now the HL chat agent said FPP credits only offset retail transaction cant be use as payment for FPP installments portion in the statement. going to ignore her. QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Feb 12 2020, 09:54 PM) That does not sound right, we swipe RM6000 converted to FPP installments RM500 x12, you mean HLB would not take that RM6000 swipe into consideration as part of the target RM108k? To me, RM6000 will be considered but the monthly RM500 x12 would not. Is this what you mean? Cant be RM6000 not considered and the RM500 x 12 also not considered right?.. need more people to clarify this important issue. This post has been edited by guy3288: Feb 12 2020, 10:40 PM |

If you swipe RM6k and convert to RM500 x 12, the RM6k is taken into consideration of your yearly spending. |

My anniversary month is March. I always plan my spending to be only slightly above 108k. I will confirm if I get the full annual CB amount then. If you deduct my FPP, I don't think I even qualify for second tier hahahaha. |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Feb 12 2020, 10:52 PM) Your posts should be correct. If you take the other interpretation, then any spending converted into FPP would not even qualify for the monthly cashback (which does not make sense). I can confirm that I have been maxing out on FPP every single month and have got full monthly CB. thanks for clarificationMy anniversary month is March. PS:@lilsunflower, Do you use FPP credit as payments to offset FPP installment due? |

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Feb 12 2020, 11:17 PM) thanks for clarification Yes - I treat FPP credits as "payment" and have never incurred charges.PS:@lilsunflower, Do you use FPP credit as payments to offset FPP installment due? Looking at my Fortune Feb 2020 statement: I have 6 separate FPP instalment charges amounting to RM6,300 Then I have RM10k retail expenditure I did an FPP conversion of FPP15,000 (credited), leaving RM1,300 outstanding Then for next statement, I just paid balance to zero This is my usual pattern for all my cards (HLB Fortune, Essential, VI) and I don't even bother tracking FPP instalments vs credits, as I just make sure that credits for the month = statement balance. |

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Feb 16 2020, 09:38 PM) At one point I had 7 0% FPP running on the same Fortune card. Basically each subsequent FPP kept rolling on to pay the next...Every time I saw 0% FPP, I whacked all the way, except for months where I had insufficient credit limit. For this reason I request for permanent CL increase with each annual salary hike. Attached thumbnail(s) |

But when coming to apply for new cc, i was rejected. I guess they consider i have too high commitment. I guess they consider i have too high commitment. Hasn't happened to me yet and there was one time I was maxed out on BT with Aeon, MBB, HLB, HSBC and PBB up to the very maximum possible. Was still able to get 6 digit CL CCs, as I also play the "cancel and reapply frequently for acquisition rewards" game. do you have similiar 'problem'? The only one card that I think was affected was my 7th round of applying to HSBC after many rounds of cancellations. They only awarded me CL of 30k for a Visa Signature! They only increased it a year later after I applied for their Premier Banking. I don't have any housing or car loans though so I'm not sure if that makes a difference? I wouldn't be so aggressive if I had to apply for loans as I'm sure no bank would take me on. |
