i just got the RM1800 rebate on last month and now my real cash got over RM2300 on the very first year~ at first thought the yearly accumulative is based on 1 Jan to 31 Dec because i received the yearly summary on Dec statement and wasted the expenditure from Sep to Dec 2015 but luckily they gave me the RM1800 payout on Sep 2016 statement and the yearly total expenses is based on the starting date of my credit card~ Thank you Hong Leong Bank for having the very best credit card in the world with an approximately 1.96% cash back on my other expenses excluding petrol, dining, grocery and online purchasing~

That's very good information - thanks for sharing! I'm halfway through my first year, and building up slowly. Normally try to hit RM5k a month, but this month is higher at RM9k. Can't wait for my annual bonus smile.gif. Its a great card for cashback on stuff that normally doesn't give anything.
*
yup, especially in a year whereby i need to buy a lot of home appliances for my new house~ 2% extra cash is a lot as compare to essential 1% and others credit card 0.3%

Quick question - do you withdraw your real cash or keep it there to accumulate interest? I've been transferring mine to Wise every month but will soon be cancelling Wise and thinking of what to do.
*
i keep inside it because it won't expire and the interest rate is higher than in savings account. it's according to prevailing 3 month FD

the yearly real cash earning credit to credit card or we need to redeem it same as monthly rebate?

when the yearly real cash earning granted?
is it exactly 12 months? or need to wait longer?

how to know how much is spent? keep track ourself? might calculate wrongly if do it ourself.
*
At first i thought it calculate until Dec of each year because there is a summary in Dec statement, however, i continue doing my own calculation and the real cash bonus RM1800 is credit on the anniversary month when you got your first spending on the card.
It's better you keep track yourself because you can judge whether you can achieve from RM68k to RM108k if the remaining month is enough for you to do so or not.
If can't you can spend on others card such as Essential to get more percentage of CB.

since the product has discontinued, when the card expired, i think the account will be closed.

same case like Mach card.
*
but what if you still got installment with the card, what will happen if they closed the account if you still owe them money?

i know what i'm going to do next, one month before my card expired, i will do the 12 month 0% installment and see how lol

usually it will be transferred to another active account, if any. Otherwise, the card account should stay active for repayment only until the installments are fully paid.

let's see how cos i only got fortune card in hlb, no others cc

Insider information from my friend working at HLB

Existing cardholder can still continue to spend with fortune card and enjoy cash back as per BAU

Request for card replacement

So when ur card going to expired and no new replacement sending over can request for card replacement and bank got no right to cancel ur card until u request to cancel.

This is what my friend told me.

Hi there! I have activated my credit card by July 2018 and my first statement is on 27th July 2018. May I know the annual retail spending to earn additional real cash is calculated from July 2018 until June 2019 or August 2018 until July 2019? Thanks!
*
1st statement is your 1st month spending, so next annual retail spending is from 28 June 2019 to 27 June 2020. Don't confuse with the December calculation, that's not the annual spending calculation. If possible make ur own excel spreadsheet to do manual calculation.

Thanks. Your answer is very clear. I already hit 38k spending until 27 June 2019 (12 months) but still no notification inform that I'm eligible for the additional cash back RM280. The additional cash back given together with the monthly real cash earning?  Or few days/weeks later?
*
It should come together with your 12th statement. Remember those installment plan figure is not counted for the annual total spending.

Sorry, I just check my history it appear that the annual real cash is given on 13th statement but the total spending still depends on your 1st - 12th statement total spending.

See the attached for more information.

Annual spending cut off date is not based on the first statement date, so we have to check the actual date with CS.
*
u can check with CS but i already got my statement since 2015 and i do my manual calculation every month and match their summary on Dec statement

Long time no park here...

Sorry but to say that before expire they will send you a replacement card for existing customer and Hong Leong Bank didn't ever said enjoy the benefit "until expiry"...

They only mentioned:
Existing Hong Leong Fortune Credit Cardholders can continue using it and enjoy the benefits.

I have also asked my relative work in Hong Leong and she said no such thing that bank will cancel your card beyond card expiry...

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 20 2019, 01:58 AM)
I believe it's not counted.

OK - still got many more months before that happens, and I hope by then the current benefits will still be in place.

For the last round I only exceeded my RM108k by RM15k (Jan to Mar, spent only RM5k/monthly exactly).

For this round, I am almost halfway through my annual cycle, but only spent RM56k to date. Perhaps I will only be able to hit RM108k in my normal anniversary month of March 2020. I keep detailed manual records to make sure I am on track, as there is almost a 1k CB difference between the 68k and 108k thresholds and I don't want to miss out on the full RM1,800.
*
i have checked my statement for the past three years and the month they credit the yearly bonus is the first month of a new cycle year
means when you got your yearly bonus on Sep statement, means the cycle of the calculation is from Sep to Aug
anyway i start using this card on July 2016 and my first statement is on Aug 2016 and the first yearly bonus credit on Sep 2017 and the same as 2018 and 2019.

applied essential supp and the CS call me back for verification.
i asked them whether they will send me renew Fortune cc and supp card before expiry date and she told me will send one month before expiry, if less than 2 weeks still didn't receive just call them.
so what my sis in law who work in hlb said is true, the fortune will continue for existing customer even though discontinued for new customer.
