The word wholesale already not high end. Gamuda has not proven itself yet on pulling quality tenants so far.

According to this article: http://www.theedgeproperty.com/news-a-view...ale-malls-.html

GM Robertson, which is expected to be completed in 2018, will be located in the transport hub near Plaza Rakyat with connections to Warisan Tower, which is close to the Bukit Bintang area. Both Lim and Chow are confident a lot of the people taking public transport will visit the wholesale mall.

According to Chow, GM Robertson will cater for the mid and mid-high market and focus on fashion with Gamuda and TSI putting together an appropriate tenant mix.

“South Korea and Japan have a lot of wholesale centres with strong emphasis on fashion. Our strategy is to bring in wholesale fashion items so that people don’t have to fly to South Korea or Japan, but come here instead.”

Should be mid to mid high end. My bad.

sound it caters more for traders than leisure shoppers. I would rather have a regular retail mall.

I myself would prefer a regular retail mall with cinema, f&b outlets & groceries as well but if we think logically, it will be suicidal to follow the concept of so many other malls like Pavilion & Suria KLCC in the vicinity. And don't forget there are other upcoming mega malls like BBCC, KL118 & Ikea in the near future. I don't know whether wholesale is the answer but at least it is different. I always feel that Lowyat Plaza is unique in its' own way & that's why it is doing well until today (correct me if I'm wrong). As long as Gamuda Land can come up with something unique & the mall will do well.

do you think KWC is doing well? they were going for fashion wholesale mall.
do you think viva is doing well? they were going for furniture mall.
do you think citta mall is doing well? they were labelling themselves as green mall with no ac on common area.

i think most if not all malls will brand themselves something.
but ultimately it still depends whether the mall can succeed or not.

just curious.
how many parking bays for shoppers will robertson host?
any idea?
thanks.

I believe there are unique malls that are successful as well & it all boils down to location, concept & good management. I can't commend much on the examples given because I personally haven't been to those malls.

Not many option for this Robertson mall. It is situated at a location with many shopping malls & size is not it's strength. If it adopts same concept as other malls, what is their selling point? How it can attract people? Will people who frequent Sunway Pyramid, 1 Utama, MId Valley, IOI City mall, Pavilion purposely come to this part of town to shop at this Robertson mall? Unless it has it's own brands, special tenants, something that other malls don't have.

The above is just my opinion. Chui sui chui sui only. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Since GM is managing the mall.. ppl shld know tht d klang gm is doing well but the products sold are really low quality/cheap stuff (been inside once only to analyze n hear from malay staff/maid etc).. The shopper demographics are mainly meleis n foreigners who come from really far places like setapak to shop thr. Im nt buying d story tht gm robertson will bring in mid to mid high end brands as i cnt imagine any mid end brands selling wholesale.

Phase 1 buyers still very very good deal. phase 2 pricing really not feasible with wholesale mall downstairs.. some failed malls/cheap product malls cn bring down the value of d condo IMHO cry.gif cry.gif

For new projects at the city center, I still feel TR offers good values & potential. So to answer your question, I will.
